I had been seeing Dr. Akhavan for several years, mainly at his Vermont location and sometimes at his East Washington location. The wait times have always been pretty awful, even with a scheduled appointment. I made it work though because it's hard finding a decent LA Care Medi-Cal doctor. However, weird things have been happening over the last 9 months and I am now searching for a new primary care doctor. Over the last 9 months, I have received multiple Notice of Authorization of Services for random doctors for issues I don't have. I haven't seen Dr. Akhavan or even been to the office in months, but I just received ANOTHER Notice of Authorization of Services for ANOTHER condition that I don't have. I reported these issues to LA Care back in May 2023 and I am now on hold with LA Care again to report this. This looks and smells like insurance fraud. Clearly, my personal information is not safe with this doctor or his office. If mine isn't safe, neither is yours.

They are used to going here as a teenager for regular physical exams. The staff is nice, but the doctors are still students who just read your clinical record from the laptop. Any complicated issues a person may have, they do not have the equipment or experience to deal with it.

I been in this clinic for at least 10years dr Afshin Akhavan is one of the best dr that’s why I didn’t want to move but unfortunately my last past visits have been really bad starting with the rude MA’s and front desk. Another thing is they don’t pick up the phone left a few voicemails and no call backs The new staff is not properly trained for dealing with medical situations need more patients with how to interact with patients because if we go to the dr is because we are sick or need medical treatment and honestly I don’t feel like I’m getting any

They lost my billing paperwork and was trying to charge me again for a service they performed which wasn't even successful had to go to a real doctors office to get it done properly. Staff keeps you on hold for over 20 mins when calling in only to tell me their "billing department" which consist of one person was not there. Do yourself a favor and go to a real doctors office.

Dr.Akhavan is the BEST! He is not like most Drs that spend 5 min with you and leave the room, or rush to get you off there schedule! He is my primary care Dr and Im 4 months pregnant so I thought I had to see and OBGYN elsewhere. I tried one in Burbank Dr Ahdoot he was on top of everything BUT he spend no more than 5min with me that was including my ultrasound. . And I was charged $55 for my copay every time I went. I have a PPO insurance that covers my OB visits 100% I found this out because I decided to try to qualify for medical that was a complete fail! I was seen at some clinic clinica de la 7th st OMG HORRIBLE! Im not gana lie the girls were really nice but the PA that saw me was HORRIBLE! She did a pelvic a exam and hurt me so much I cried. That coming from someone that is perty tough. I desided to see Dr Akavan for a UTI and found out he doea see pregnant pts!!! Best news ever.. He is so kind and his bedside ethic is amazing.. VERY professional I would recommend him to everyone I know
