Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Boarding the Sunset Limited at L.A. Union Station is an experience in itself. The station is a stunning piece of Art Deco history, clean, grand, and surprisingly easy to navigate. I appreciate how organized the Amtrak boarding process is here. The Sunset Limited route is the ultimate slow travel win. Heading east through the California mountains and into the desert at night feels incredibly cinematic. I highly recommend grabbing a seat in the Observation Car early to catch the sunrise over the Southwest. Staff was informative but I had mentioned in another review that extra training in customer service is recommended. I understand staff deal with hundreds of riders daily and riders also need to do their part adhering to rules and make a point not to be troublesome. The seats were way more spacious than any airline, and thereβs nothing like watching the world go by with a coffee in hand. If you have the time, skip the 5-hour flight and take the train, itβs a reminder that the journey is just as important as the destination. Thank you for a great trip, I would definitely ride again! ππΌβ€οΈ

The Amtrak ticket office and lounge area is "only" way to travel. However, it is offered to first class passengers. Nice chairs to wait in and coffee, water and sodas are all complimentary.

Great service and no problem getting my ticket. Train on time and prices were reasonable. Took a bunch of pictures while I waited. Pretty busy but no issues.

Can only wish it is a faster way to travel. But it is already a pretty nice experience overall if you are not in a terrible rush. The station buildings were definitely on the slightly ran down conditions.
