This is my favorite bookstore in San Diego! I order my monthly bookclub selections here and almost always find another book (or 2 or 4) to add to my purchase when I go in to pickup my order because there's always something interesting on the shelves. Another perk is that I can bring in my used books for trade credit. It feels like an authentic bookstore with wood floors that creak just enough and floor to ceiling wood bookshelves, I love the ambience! The staff is wonderful, they're always so friendly and helpful.

As the author of The Grant Colson Thriller Series and The SERA Archives Thriller Series, I appreciate local neighborhood bookstores, and Bluestocking Books in Hillcrest is a fun and unique shop. I even found a copy of one of the old Piers Anthony fantasy novels I grew up on. Those books helped push me toward becoming a writer, along with my shelf of nonfiction polar and mountaineering titles. The staff here is super courteous and the prices are more than reasonable. It’s great having places like this in the city where people actually know the books, understand the genres, and can point you in the right direction for whatever you’re hunting for. I also noticed the romance shelves while writing The Maui Desire Romance Series, and it’s a thoughtfully curated section that fits the store well.

Extremely friendly staff and reasonable prices. I felt very comfortable shopping in this little gem. When I went to pay, the woman at the register was complimentary and took an interest in the books I was purchasing -- mainly Medieval murder mysteries. (^_^) I'm from out of town and really appreciated my experience. As a book and bookstore lover, I was happy to patronize and support this bookstore. Highly recommend.

The bookstore offers a variety of second hand books at a really good price! I managed to find a book from my TBR for a very cheap price! I was also surprised that I could find a Malay book here

One of my favorite bookstores when I lived in San Diego a few years back. Got to revisit this past week and was happy to find it still open for business and thriving. They’ve even reorganized things and I like the new setup. Great to see small business bookstores doing so well. Found some great books to add to my collection of course. And already look forward to my next visit!
