San Francisco is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Francisco follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Beautiful church. Stunning architecture. Toilets in the basement are very clean. The shop has plenty of religious items to buy. I would love to visit one day for mass just to hear the massive organ.

Absolutely stunning cathedral with unique modern architecture and a very peaceful atmosphere. We attended the vigil mass last Saturday 5/23. There weren't many people as we arrived early for the anticipated mass. The interior is beautiful and inspiring, making it a wonderful place for prayer, reflection, and attending Mass. A must-visit in San Francisco whether for worship or simply to admire its beauty.

I was initially drawn to this building by its striking modern design, and I only later discovered it was designed by a renowned architect. The space is truly a work of art—the way the modern lines interact with the atmosphere is breathtaking. It’s an incredibly peaceful and quiet place, perfect for reflection or simply admiring the structural beauty.

Stunning church. The priest who gave mass looked young and so very wise. My friends and I attended Saturday Vigil Mass during our vacation in the area and we were in awe with the entire celebration. The only observation I’d say was disappointing was the lack of attendance - I hope the pews fill 🙏

After living in San Francisco for over 20 years, I finally visited the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption—and wow. The doors alone are incredible, full of stunning details. Inside, it’s calm and peaceful. Sunlight through the colorful stained-glass mosaics fills the space with warmth and color. Even after all these years in the city, I was reminded that there’s always something new to discover—and moments of beauty that take your breath away.

For He said "I shall prepare a place for you in Heaven". That's what I felt visiting today praying after 38 years I arrived in San Francisco. I feel the solitude again being thankful for God's blessings. When you look up, it is amazing.

Super modern and unlike any church I’ve ever seen. The outside looks like something out of a sci-fi movie, but inside with cool light patterns from the stained glass. Not crowded at all. Definitely a hidden gem in the middle of the city.

Magnificent church with long history yet absolutely modern looking. Almost like a boat from the outer space( heaven). The architecture design was so creative. The arched ceiling has stained glasses formed a big cross above the altar. It was so magnificent you definitely keep looking up and fixing your eyes on the cross with ever changing colors.
