American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

For the price, you will not do better anywhere else. This place has been here for what seems like forever. Back when I was in high school etc, we used to come to Westwood and cruise around. Making a stop at Diddy Riese was pretty much standard especially as the cookies back then were 25 cents each. Today, the cookies are $0.75 each which is still a deal - one that you won't get anywhere else. Granted, these are not the gourmet cookies topping out at $5 each or more. This is a small, soft (not gooey) cookie that will satisfy a cookie craving. You get what you pay for! They also have brownies which are delicious and ice cream sandwiches for $5 which is also a deal. They are located across from UCLA so I'm sure that was first and foremost in their mind when they picked this location. At busy times like early evenings and weekends, expect a wait but it moves relatively quickly.

Stopped by and the vibe was easy, no line when I went, which was nice. Prices are still very affordable, especially for the area. The cookies were good if youβre just craving something sweet, but they leaned more on the dry side rather than soft and moist. Nothing terrible, just not that gooey texture some people expect. If youβre nearby and want a quick, inexpensive cookie fix, it works. Not a critic, just sharing how it felt.

Diddy Riese Cookies is a true classic and an absolute must-visit for anyone craving a sweet, nostalgic treat. This spot is famous for its freshly baked cookies and those legendary custom ice cream sandwiches where you pick two cookies and sandwich a generous scoop of Dreyerβs premium ice cream in between. The signature ice cream sandwiches are the star here: warm, chewy cookies hugging rich, creamy ice cream in endless flavor combos. From chocolate chip to peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia, oatmeal raisin walnut, and more, plus a solid lineup of ice cream flavors like vanilla bean, mint chocolate chip, cookies βn cream, butter pecan, strawberry cheesecake, rocky road, and espresso chip. The photos show the display case packed with tempting optionsβrows of colorful cookies, brownies, and that inviting ice cream freezer with scoops ready to go. Itβs indulgent and fun to customize your own creation. Everything is incredibly affordable, which is part of the charmβportions are hearty, and you get a lot of bang for your buck compared to other dessert spots. The interior feels cozy and welcoming, with that classic red-and-yellow branding, menu boards overhead listing all the opt
