I first sought out Magie Song in 2010, and it remains one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for my health and well-being. Over the course of my six decades, I’ve worked with more than five truly serious, skilled acupuncturists. Magie exceeds them all, not just in technical mastery, but in presence, intuition, and depth of care. Her understanding of the body is extraordinary. But what sets her apart is the way she listens to symptoms, to story, to what isn’t being said. She has supported me through physical healing, emotional transitions, and spiritual growth. Her treatments don’t just “address issues” they recalibrate the entire system. And perhaps my favorite quality: her humor. There is something profoundly healing about being able to laugh in the middle of life’s complexity. I believe humor is one of the highest forms of character and Magie embodies that. She brings wisdom without heaviness, depth without drama. Working with her has been transformative. I recommend her without hesitation to anyone seeking not just acupuncture, but true integrative healing.

I’ve been receiving treatment at Echo Park Acupuncture for well over decade and for a wide range of ailments. Whether it’s a lingering migraine, a lower back ache, or a repetitive stress injury from too much guitar, Magie knows which points will bring the relief. A neighborhood treasure.

I love this place. It’s community-oriented and there’s lots of free street parking. Magie is honest, as opposed to another acupuncturist I saw in the past who billed my insurance company for a lot of fictitious visits. Magie is also affordable. She has offered advice on exercises and stretching that help improve my low back pain. In my experience, free advice is unusual. Plus, Magie is a very skilled acupuncturist - the needles don’t hurt and my back hurts less!

While briefly living in L.A., I took a trip and contracted a bacterial infection that led to severe sinus congestion, ear and eye infections, and ENT inflammation. My doctors suggested that the only course of action was facial reconstructive surgery to open the sinuses and align my deviated septum, which could potentially make matters worse. While I understood the doctors' concerns and advice, I knew that if the source of the issue was inflammation. This invasive surgery would only lead to more inflammation and little guarantee that the problem would be resolved. My regret was not going to Magie, and, specifically, Magie, sooner, as another practitioner with whom I briefly sought treatment had mistreated me. I suffered for nine months and was on every antibiotic, steroid, and concoction under the sun. Magie treated the *source* of my issue (with improvement starting in under three months) and educated me on properly using herbs and supplements, prompting me to cherish her encouragement to *become a greater advocate for my health* and empowering me to immerse myself in my culture's traditional healing as complementary support. Now, that horrifying experience seems like a distant

By far, the most caring and attentive (and affordable!) acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist in Los Angeles! I was diagnosed with fatty liver syndrome, and was told by my doctor there was no cure (other than walking allot!) Magie at Echo Park Community Acupuncture, prescribed these easy to take, super potent, and high quality Chinese formula herbal pills. A Fibroscan was done (before and after I adhered to this regimen) remarkably the numbers on my liver panel went from severe to almost normal levels!
