For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 4–9:30 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Fortuna Ristorante Italiano at (619) 310-5739; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Came here for my daughter's 18th birthday. She wanted Italian and this came up as one of the top Italian restaurants in San Diego. Its a cute little restaurant in University Heights. They gave us delicious fresh bread with an olive tapenade. My hubby loved the πŸ«’ olive, I am not a fan of olives. The sangria here was really good as well which had always been hard for me to find out here. The calamari was delicious, lightly breaded and fried to perfection πŸ‘Œ We ordered fettuccine Alfredo with chicken for the kids so that they could split it. There is no kids menu here and the portions are large. The alreado sauce was the best I have ever had. It wasnt super heavy on the cream it was light and had a hint of lemon in it which was mouthwatering. My daughter ordered the spinach ravioli with the pistachio pesto sauce and that was super good too! My hubby and I shared the Scoglio which was also a light dish. The mix of seafood in it was great with clams, mussels, salmon, squid and shrimp 🍀 They brought out free dessert for my daughter and I ordered the tiramisu which is one of my favorite desserts. It was so good! Definitely the best tiramisu that I have had in a while. The servers were supe

This Italian restaurant is purely authentic. Not only from its Tuscan feel where it's nestled into the community. But to everyone who greets you and serves you at this restaurant. Everyone serves with a smile and with genuine enthusiasm. The kitchen is absolutely amazing. Bread is so flavorful and well thought out. The particular dish that I had was purely authentic and was made with genuine love and with amazing hands. I am absolutely floored as a first time San Diego visitor all the way from Houston. Chef kiss to the pollo parmesan dish. This has left a lasting impression on me and my stomach -in a good way

If you're looking for authentic Italian food in San Diego, Fortuna Restaurante is a must-visit. This was not only the best Italian meal I've had in San Diegoβ€”it may have been the best Italian meal I've ever had. Our table ordered the lamb shank with risotto, and it was absolutely outstanding. The lamb was tender and flavorful, and the risotto was cooked perfectly. Every dish that came to the table was exceptional. Even dessert was flawless. What impressed me most was the combination of quality, authenticity, and value. The food rivals restaurants that charge significantly more, yet the pricing is very reasonable for the experience you receive. The service was warm and welcoming, and you can tell there is real passion behind the food. From start to finish, everything was perfect. I will definitely be back and will be recommending Fortuna to friends and family. A true gem in San Diego.

My husband and I consider this the best Italian spot in San Diego. This was already our 6th visit! The Artichoke is incredibly delicious and a must-try. We’ve tried various pasta dishes, and they never disappoint. Also, the Salmon was cooked to perfectionβ€”so tender and flavorful. If you're looking for authentic and high-quality Italian food, this is the place!
