Griffith Observatory — A Place Full of Meaning Griffith Observatory is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. Perched above Los Angeles, with breathtaking views of the city and the Hollywood sign, it is a truly magical place, especially at sunset. But for me, this place is much more than just a beautiful viewpoint. It is my wife’s favorite place, which makes every moment here even more special. Seeing Los Angeles from up there, surrounded by the lights of the city and the endless sky, feels incredibly peaceful and intimate. There is something timeless about Griffith Observatory — the architecture, the views, the stars, and the feeling of being above the city. I can completely understand why she loves it so much. For us, it is not simply a place to visit. It is a place connected to memories, emotions, and the person I love. One of the most beautiful places in Los Angeles — and forever one of my favorites because it is hers. ❤️

The Griffith Observatory is unique hybrid of public observatory, planetarium, and exhibition space. Visitors may look through telescopes, explore exhibits, see live shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium, and enjoy spectacular views of Los Angeles and the Hollywood Sign. It is free to visit but you may have to pay for parking or walk up the hill for free parking. It does get very busy. It’s near the Greek Theatre so traffic may be heavier when there’s a show. They have the Stellar Emporium bookstore and gift shop and The Café at the End of the Universe and seating area. We went there to see the nearly total 96% partial “blood moon" lunar eclipse.

This is easiest spot to take photo of the Hollywood sign and LA skyline. Park at the Greek theater and take the bus up. Only cost 50cents. It gets busy on the return bus. I was expectinf closer to the sign but guess save you from hiking up. The outside area is free. Plenty of spots to take photo.

Always wanted to visit this place and it didn't disappoint. There were thousands of people there but not too crowded. The views of course was amazing my family had a great time just a slight uphill walk to the observatory wasnt bad good workout. Wife and I didn't well over 10k steps during this adventure. My boys loved it seeing new things they never seen before. There is no fee to go into the observatory but there are memberships to get to watch and view different perks. There are two complaints from me is the bathrooms I know its a historical building but come on those bathrooms need a major renovation. Also for the city of LA the parking fee machines I tried two of those things dozens of times and none took my card despite having $$$ in my accounts. Other than that it was a great experience we will come back again during the winter months later this year. Also I didn't mind to donate to the observatory either when it comes to zoos, children's museums donations make sense for their upkeep and preservation.

This place is an amazing find. The hype is definitely worth it especially because it is free. I would like to think if they cost for the entry then they would still have a lot of customers. The outside views are absolutely breathtaking and the inside shows history of our solar system and of anything space. If you come to LA this is an absolute must see. There is a lot of interactive activities for the kids to keep them occupied as-well.
