I had a incredibly disappointing experience at this emergency room. I sat in the waiting room in severe pain for over five hours, and unfortunately, heard the same complaints from almost everyone else waiting. The staff showed a complete lack of empathy; whenever anyone asked for help, they were simply brushed off with 'I can't help you, I'm not a nurse or a doctor.' The communication and patient care here desperately need improvement.

My wife and I recently welcomed our first child at HH. Our experience was a stark mix of wonderful care and severe disappointment. The Good: First, we want to give a massive shout-out to Maile and Stephanie and some other nurses/staff who took care of us! They were absolutely amazing during our first two days. They were incredibly caring, supportive, and attentive, making us feel safe and cared for as we welcomed our newborn. They truly have a passion for their patients. The Bad: Unfortunately, our experience shifted drastically on our final day with our nurse, Purdy. She introduced herself at 7 AM and then completely vanished. She did not check on us, offer reassurance, or provide basic postpartum support a single time throughout the day until she returned at 5:00 PM for discharge. To make matters worse, when we preparing to leave and asked for extra basic necessary supplies (A&D ointment, wipes, and formula) to help us transition through our first week at home, Purdy was incredibly stingy and dismissive. She acted as though the supplies were coming out of her own pocket, refusing to provide what we needed. It simply seems like Purdy was just a lazy nurse doing the minimum to co

I had to bring my mother to the ER and we were scene by the x/ray tech within 30 minutes. Staff was empathetic and Mindful. My mother had a bed with the next 30 mins and she was scheduled for surgery first thing in the morning. I am beyond grateful and thankful for all the doctors help. 10/10

On December 5th, 2024, I was sideswiped by an SUV while riding my motorcycle on the 210 Freeway. I was taken by ambulance to Huntington Hospital’s Trauma Unit. What happened there was one of the worst experiences of my life — and not because of the accident. During my CT scan, technicians accidentally introduced contrast dye into the wrong line. The pain was immediate and intense — like peanut butter being forced through my veins. I screamed. They pulled me out, apologized, and put me back in. I believe the chaos from that mistake rattled the team and contributed to what happened next. The reviewing doctor told me nothing was wrong with me and refused to prescribe any pain medication beyond Tylenol. I told them I could barely stand. I told them I didn’t feel safe to leave. They weren’t concerned — they were focused on getting me out of that bed. I had to beg for a wheelchair to get out of the building. The entire time, I felt like I was being treated as a drug seeker or even as the person who caused the accident, not as the victim of reckless driving who had just been hit by an SUV at freeway speed. I was just released from Huntington Hospital this afternoon after having shoulder replacement surgery last week. I was a patient on 6 East and I am so happy with the care I received. I’ve never dealt with such a caring, and professional nursing team. I can’t recommend this hospital highly enough.
