Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

As someone who recently spent a few weeks in Japan, I was really excited to try a sweet Japanese treat that is known for using milk directly from Hokkaido. I will say that I overall enjoyed my order, but I was surprised at how unsweet it was. I feel that this would be a nice option for people that have sweet sensitivities. There’s not a lot of options on the menu. They specialize in a few specific options. They don’t have a deledicated parking lot, your only options will be metered street parking. We were lucky enough to find a spot right in front. For my order, I chose their traditional Hokkaido milk and added the crème brûlée top. Inside is also very small so it’s much more of a grab and go kind of place. I would recommend if you are familiar with this already, but if you’re expecting it to be a sweet as FroYo, you may be a bit disappointed.

Ever since I had Hokkaido ice cream, I’ve been dreaming about it. I love that Indigo Cow opened up in LA, and I don’t have to fly to Hokkaido to get it! The soft serve ice cream is served in two flavors here. I highly recommend the Hokkaido milk! You won’t get a creamier softer ice cream than anywhere else. I opted to add the mochi, brown sugar syrup, and roasted soy bean powder for an extra $2. It wasn’t bad, but I think I would add warabimochi next time! I was here after dinner, and there were no other patrons. I didn’t have to wait. The place is small, but there is indoor seating and water station. No bathroom though. Parking here is tough because you have to find a spot on the street. An izakaya opened up next door recently.

Perfect treat for soft serve lovers on a warm LA day! Inside you’ll find a few seating areas and customer restroom. There’s also some benches outside to chill at. If you’re worried about parking, there’s a 2hr lot behind the building and also street parking!

I got the Hokkaido Milk flavor + MBR, it was delicious the texture of the mochi was amazing, loved the brown sugar syrup on top. It wasn’t too sweet either, it was like eating like brown sugar boba ice cream in the BEST WAY.

We tried the crème brûlée one, and it was fantastic. The caramelized sugar layer on top had that perfect crisp crack, and underneath it was smooth, creamy, and really satisfying. The combination of textures — the crunchy caramelized top with the soft, sweet filling — made every bite really enjoyable. Overall, it was a great dessert and definitely something I’d order again if I come back. If you like crème brûlée-style desserts with that caramelized sugar shell and creamy base, this one really delivers.
