Nice drinks. Cute place! Nice for after dinner drink in little Italy.

Disappointing service at a long-time favorite: I’ve visited Italian Cellar Speakeasy several times now, and it has consistently been one of my favorite spots in San Jose for a celebratory drink. However, my experience this evening (between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM) was unfortunately a major letdown due to the service. When I entered, the bar was entirely empty. I was standing near the bar looking at the menu when the bartender came in from outside and told me I should have waited outside until someone was present. When I politely asked if there was a sign I missed, he told me it was "basic principle." I understand that bartending can be a high-pressure job, but given that the place was empty and I was simply waiting to be served, the frustration directed at me felt unnecessary. Later, when I returned my glass and asked about closing times, I was met with a similarly rude and condescending tone. Throughout the visit, the bartender seemed frustrated with me in general, and I’m honestly not sure why. It’s a shame because I’ve always enjoyed the vibe here. Perhaps the bartender just needed some of the positive vibes that this place has always served me with in the past. I hope this was just

First time visiting this beautiful establishment and I had such a great experience! This hidden gem, a speakeasy-style bar located in Little Italy, has been open for about two years and truly stands out. The owner, Josh, along with bartenders Tracy and Vinnie, were amazingβ€”very welcoming and friendly, which made the visit even better. The drinks were excellent as well! The space itself is warm and inviting, with bright red couches that really stand out and add to the overall vibe. If you’re looking for a relaxing spot to enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine, this is definitely the place. It’s also within walking distance of SAP Center, making it perfect before or after a Sharks game. They even have a cocktail called the β€œCelebrini,” named after Sharks player Marc Celebrini, which is a fun touch! I was also told that on Thursday nights they have a pianist, which sounds like such a great time and adds to the overall experience. I also love that it’s a nonprofit establishment located in the heart of downtown San Jose and Little Italy. It’s also kid-friendlyβ€”a huge bonus for parents! Highly recommendβ€”can’t wait to come back!

A very cool location, very nice leather booths, yummy drinks well priced, and great history in the location. We were able to play a 100+ year old piano with the grandson of the original owner there, and the bartender played spoons with us and our kids, overall a great new place!! No food here, but poor house bistro, and littlest little Italy have good food near to here!

A friend and I wandered here after having dinner down the street and it did not disappoint! We were in the mood for dessert and when we saw they had fresh cannolis, we had to try one. Their cannoli is fresh, delicious, and they can tailor it based on what you’re looking for - chocolate chip, pistachio, or both. We didn’t order drinks this time around, but the drinks look really good too. Looking forward to trying a few next time! The vibe here is cozy, fun, and a great place to hang out. Our server did an outstanding job too. Highly recommend this place!
