⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Noodle & Bun has become my go-to spot for Chinese homestyle comfort food in the Gaslamp! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made right in front of you. You can actually watch the chefs cook, and every dish comes out hot and perfectly prepared. I especially love that they offer three different noodle options, so you can choose your favorite. The garlic chili edamame is a must-try, and I always enjoy pairing my meal with one of their cold IPAs. They also offer complimentary tea with every meal, which is such a nice touch. The restaurant is clean, the service is quick, and everyone is incredibly friendly. A special shoutout to Eddie, who always makes us feel welcome and takes great care of his guests. Whether you’re stopping in by yourself, meeting friends, or bringing a larger group, they can easily arrange the seating to accommodate everyone. Plus, Horton Plaza parking makes it an easy place to visit. I’ve been here several times, and they’ve never missed. Consistently fresh food, generous portions, and amazing customer service. If you’re looking for authentic Chinese comfort food that tastes homemade, this is the place. Highly recommended!

We visited over the weekend and were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the restaurant was. It wasn’t crowded, with only a handful of other tables occupied, making for a relaxed dining experience. Service was prompt and efficient from start to finish. Our orders were taken quickly, water was brought out right away, and the food arrived without much wait. After reading reviews comparing the spicy wontons to Din Tai Fung’s, we had to give them a try. While they were decent, they didn’t quite live up to the hype for us. The sauce was a bit sweeter and lacked some of the depth and balance that makes Din Tai Fung’s version so memorable. They were enjoyable, but overall just average. We also ordered the spicy beef brisket noodle soup with hand-pulled noodles. This dish was the highlight of the meal. The broth was rich and flavorful, the noodles had a great texture, and the portion was generous. The only drawback was that our bowl contained quite a few fattier pieces of brisket than we would have preferred. Pleasantly surprised to find this place. You can watch the chefs making their own noodles through the window. They serve some of the best hand-pulled noodles I’ve had in the USA. The house special chow mein was great, but my favorite was the spicy beef brisket noodle soup. It was incredibly comforting, and the rich broth paired perfectly with the noodles. Great value for the price.

I’d give this place a 3.5 if Google allowed it. We came to Noodle & Bun with high expectations after reading all the rave reviews, but unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed. To be fair, the food was definitely fresh, but we found the actual flavors to be really bland and boring. I ordered the Spicy Beef Brisket Noodle Soup, and it just wasn't spicy at all. I actually had to add about half a jar of the chili sauce from the table just to try and get some heat and flavor into the broth. My partner had the Veggie Chow Mein and ran into the same issue, needing to add a lot of soy sauce and chili oil just to give it some taste. We also shared the Veggie Spring Rolls, which were cooked nicely—light golden brown and very crispy—but again, they just lacked much flavor. I know I might be the outlier with my review, and maybe we just caught the kitchen on an off day. Like I said, the ingredients are fresh, but the dishes just needed a lot of help. A quick heads-up about the location: I'd strongly recommend eating inside rather than sitting at their outdoor tables. My wife and I had an unbelievable experience at Noodle & Bun. As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were captivated as we could see the chefs making the noodles by hand. The service was impeccable. We had multiple people checking on us to take our orders, bring food to us, and serve us water. The food was amazing! I strongly recommend the spicy beef brisket noodle soup and the spicy won tons. Also, the prices were more than reasonable. Great experience overall!
