Overall great and navigable station, however pay attention to which track your train is on. Even after heading the correct way (Track 2) according to signage, there were elevators for both tracks in that direction and I took the closer, incorrect elevator and missed my train because of it. However the elevators are labeled, so as long as you ensure you are on the correct track you will be fine.

This is a very small station that is closed three days a week. There is no access to restrooms, drinking water, staff assistance, or any other basic amenities. To be fair, itβs extremely easy to navigate, so getting around isnβt an issue. However, I believe the station should at least remain open for restroom access. Trains can be late, and unfortunately, they often are. When passengers are left waiting for extended periods without even basic facilities available, it can make the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable.

I was here one week ago today, and took these pictures. There was a one hour wait before the train, so I walked around the beautiful grounds, enjoying the layout of the building and property. They really take excellent care of everything and keep the place spotless. The front area is like a pretty park with flowers and nice walkways. The staff are super cool and friendly. The price from Solana Beach to downtown Los Angeles Union Station was under $40, and took a couple hours. I hope to come through this station again this year. A+++ all the way. Thank you! From Las Vegas, Michael

Nice, clean station with clean bathrooms and parking available, Amtrack and coaster stop here. There is stairs and elevator to get to street level, you can wait indoors to stay warm or outside near the tracks. Beach, bar and restaurants are near by.
