Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I stopped by this cafe recently on my way downtown and was very surprised at the cleanliness and the service. The service is exceptional, the employees and baristas are super nice and knowledgeable. I tried the black sesame latte and it was sooooo good. Not sweet, very foamy and tasty, would definitely come again for that latte. If you’re in the area and looking for a quiet place to study or wfh, this is the place. A++ recommend.

I stopped by Soro Coffee in Downtown LA and had a cortado that was executed really well. The owner was friendly, professional, and clearly knows his craft. We chatted about coffee, and he mentioned that he normally serves his cortado at a 1:1.5 espresso-to-milk ratio. I asked if he could make it 1:1 instead, and he had no problem adjusting it while still keeping the drink balanced and enjoyable. The cortado itself was smooth, well-integrated, easy to drink and I was able to taste the coffee’s notes. The texture was nice, the milk was incorporated properly, and the heart pour was clean. What stood out most was how well the drink held together despite being served in a larger glass than what I’d typically associate with a traditional 1:1 cortado. Being able to execute that ratio in a larger vessel without the drink feeling lost or diluted is a good sign of an experienced barista. My only small technical critique would be the glass choice. For a true 1:1 cortado, I personally prefer a smaller glass that better matches the ratio and presentation. That’s a minor detail though, and more of a preference than a flaw. Overall, Soro Coffee left a great impression. The owner was knowledgea

The Coffee & Menu: This is an exceptional new coffee shop located right next to Whole Foods and Bottega Louie. The Craft: The owner, Kim, is a certified SCA trainer, and that deep expertise is incredibly evident in the quality of the drinks. The Selection: They offer a fantastic range, including matcha, traditional espresso drinks, and cold brews. Pour Overs: The true standout for me is their pour-over selection, which is absolutely great. You can really taste the quality and the precision in their brewing methods. The Space & Logistics: Atmosphere: The interior is spacious and very well-designed. They offer plenty of spots for seating, reliable Wi-Fi, and clean bathrooms, making it an ideal place to sit down and work or study. Parking: As expected for this part of DTLA, parking would be not easy in this area, so plan accordingly and expect to use street meters or nearby lots. Verdict: With its high-level coffee program backed by an SCA trainer and a fantastic working environment, this is a must-try spot in Downtown LA!

This is definitely a gem in downtown city of the angels. The atmosphere is so chill and relaxing with the perfect chilled beats vibe you’ll want to stay here until they close. The baristas are serious and dedicated to the craft. I say this as my experience here was magical. I ordered the Espresso Shot set up along with a Pour Over set up. The execution of the presentation was eye pleasing with the coffee flavor to match. I was so pleased with every sip of both of my orders I decided to get a third one. This time I ordered their specialty which is the Soro. It’s a blend of Matcha cream with espresso topped with a dried orange to give it a unique flavor with each sip. Everything was satisfactory and I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu. The service was friendly and inviting. If you’re in the mood for some serious coffee or a flavorful drink then definitely check them out.

Working or studying spot vibes for sure! Huge space, and the corner at the back even complemented with TV, which could function as screen. This made it perfect pick for either solo guest or group. The only downside was certainly parking situation, which you might have expected given it’s at downtown. The lady behind the order counter, who’s also the barista, was super nice. Really appreciated her for helping me being more decisive when placing my order (lol) as I was initially torn between their Soro Latte and any Matcha drinks. She convinced me to go with the prior as she said it’s her favorite. I got it for to-go just because finding parking seemed impossible even after few rounds trying! This drink was simply a beauty with those layers of colors. It featured that matcha espresso combo with matcha cream top and the sweetener was basically the blue syrup at the bottom. I might fancy the coffee to be slightly stronger, but it’s overall good! Even the matcha flavor stood out despite just being in the cream. Not sure what the blue syrup made of, but the dose in this cup certainly suited those who fancied anything not overly sweet.
