San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I love to come to mass here. It has the traditional church feeling. It's a beautiful church.

Attended mass here and it was very beautiful. The father giving mass did very well. I left the feeling really good about the message he delivered.

Be careful walking down the stairs off of 3rd Ave entrance. They are steep and numerous for the elderly. If you're not familiar with this church, you'll have no other choice but to use them. Please know that there is a flat entrance on the 4th Ave side with wheelchair access as well. This is a beautiful, enormous cathedral!

How sad. Visiting the area and wanted to stop in the church. I had not been back in 25 years. I paid for parking walked up to the front doors and found them locked at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. A man painting out front said that the church was closed. No signage indicating church hours. So I called the office and the recording said that the church was open Tuesday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. I spoke to someone named father Peter Navarro and explained the situation and he really didn’t seem to care. All he said was where did you find out the information about the church hours and when I told him that it was on the recording all he said was that’s fine to know. Nothing else. Not exactly a very welcoming message to the faithful.

Reaching a milestone in my pilgrimage to visit every Catholic church in San Diego County, I stepped into the awe-inspiring San Diego Cathedral, with stained glass windows that shimmer like stories come to life. Sunlight streamed through the magnificent stained glass windows of San Diego Cathedral. The soaring architecture and warm light filtering through the stained glass created a truly welcoming atmosphere. Free parking on Sundays in the nearby pay lot is an added bonus, making San Diego Cathedral a must-visit for any explorer of the city's religious heritage.

It was a very beautiful Catholic cathedral. There are many life size statues of many wonderful saints. There is also a new statue of Mother Teresa sank teresa and the Pope John it is gorgeous cathedral lovely lit and the acoustics are wonderful. For a mass today we had the I don't know how many pipes are in the Oregon but it's a big organ up in the loft and there was singing at the mass it was very spiritual. It reminded me of masses when I was a child absolutely lovely. There is a restroom and free parking.
