I want to start by admitting I was not an easy client. Although I was assured my case would not go to trial, I was astonished when our assigned attorney, Collin Moore, came out of the courtroom with an offer from the Judge and DA that turned a very scary outcome into an incredibly fair verdict for me. The first DA and Judge were bulldogs in their way of treating me as a perpetrator, which was the complete opposite of who I am as a human being. I will always be grateful to Collin Moore for his patience in dealing with me during stressful moments, for his consistency in handling a 73-year-old man who was diagnosed with a mentally challenging handicap called Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). My depression controlled my life and was the reason I lost my cool and threw an ashtray and crystal decanter at the wall behind my husband of 46 years, one of which scraped the top of his scalp, so he called 911 when he felt blood on top of his head, and I got arrested for Domestic Violence after I admitted to throwing those two items. I was immediately struck by what could’ve happened if either heavy item had harmed my husband. I deserved being arrested for an outburst where someone could’ve been
