The promo on this lodging option are way over-rated. It's very basic and incredibly LOUD. There is constant bus, car and motorcycle traffic on Fillmore street just outside with windows. FYI, it does NOT have AC -- which is why we picked it. It has fans. We had to close all our windows bc of the street noise which made the unventilated room wam at night. IT was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are TINY. Maid service didn't happen only full day we were there. We paid $600/night for a hotel that should have been $200 -- even in pricey SF. IT is clean but low end and LOUD.

Great central location. Easy walking distance to many parks . In a nice neighborhood. Rooms are small but adequate. Friendly attentive staff. Common room open 9am to 5 pm is a bit sparse. Tea & coffee maker in the room is a nice touch. Good value overall.

Great location! Easy to walk to restaurants, shopping, and Alamo Square Park. Easy to pick up a bus or ride service. The recommended parking garage is a 15-20 min walk, with a slight incline heading to The Grove Inn. We appreciated the keypad check-in instructions (very easy) since we checked in after 5pm and that the staff called to check in with us prior to arrival to make sure we had the info. The room was comfortable and clean, with a coffee maker, tea pot and a mini-fridge provided. I appreciated the little chocolates and cookies! The only downside is that the walls are very thin: our neighbors came back very late and were talking loudly -we could practically hear every word! Ear plugs were provided with the bathroom amenities but luckily the people didn't stay up too long. These people were extra loud though, and regular conversations from other neighbors could not be heard. All in all, a very nice stay for a reasonable price, and we hope to return.
