I was pretty disappointed with my stay. The room itself was nice and the staff was friendly, but unfortunately, that was about where the positives ended. One of the biggest issues is the lack of nearby food options. Unless you want to Uber somewhere, you’re pretty much stuck eating at the hotel’s onsite restaurant, Fuego. The menu is very limited, and the quality of the food wasn’t great, especially considering the prices. The worst part, though, was the service. We were constantly waiting to order, waiting for drinks, and even waiting for the check at the end of the meal. The restaurant wasn’t even busy, so there really wasn’t an obvious reason for the delays. I was also frustrated by the automatic 20% service charge. I will generally leave a 20% tip even when the service isn’t great, but I believe guests should be clearly informed that a tip or service charge has already been included. It also makes me wonder whether the service would be better if the staff knew the tip wasn’t guaranteed. On top of that, $12 for a bottle of Saratoga water is absolutely ridiculous. The prices of the snacks and drinks in the lobby were another issue. A bottle of Coke Zero was $8. Given that there

My birthday stay at The Maya was absolutely incredible from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, Daisy went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special. She surprised us with complimentary cocktails and free parking, and her kindness and exceptional customer service truly made the celebration even more memorable. The entire property is beautiful, and the views are breathtaking. Whether we were relaxing by the pool, enjoying the view from our room, or dining at Fuego, every moment felt like a little slice of paradise. Speaking of Fuego—the food was phenomenal! Every dish was delicious, and the waterfront views while dining made the experience unforgettable. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, a special occasion destination, or simply a beautiful place to unwind, I can’t recommend The Maya enough. Thank you to Daisy and the entire team for making my birthday one I’ll never forget. We can’t wait to come back!

I recently visited The Maya in Long Beach and was really impressed by the renovations. The property feels refreshed, modern, and thoughtfully updated while still maintaining its unique waterfront charm. The newly renovated reception/front desk area creates a warm and welcoming first impression, and the restaurant seating has been redesigned to feel more stylish, open, and inviting. The guest rooms have also been beautifully modernized with updated furniture and décor that make the space feel much more elevated and comfortable. I appreciate that the renovations didn’t take away from the character of the property instead, they enhanced it. The Maya now feels like a perfect blend of relaxed coastal vibes and modern luxury. Overall, the updates have brought new life to the hotel, and it’s exciting to see this Long Beach gem continue to evolve.

We stayed 4 nights. The hotel, itself, is very nice. The property is well maintained and there are several nice amenities including pool, jacuzzi, gym, fire pits, lounge chairs in the little “beach” area and even a roaming coati. for an authentic Mayan feel. . Walking around the property providesd gorgeous views of the Harbor. The rooms were clean and bed comfortable. However, our room, which had a cute balcony, directly faced the freeway, It was extremely loud. Sitting outside wasn’t enjoyable, and the sound of trucks barreling down could be heard at all hours of the night. I asked on several occasions to switch rooms but was told there were no other rooms available and switching was not possible. They are also doing construction, and because this room was also closest to the parking lot, you could hear the workers pretty early in the morning. I think it would have been a wonderful stay in a different room on the property.

I booked Hotel Maya through Super.com because it was represented as a 4-star hotel, but after looking more closely at recent reviews before checking in, I no longer felt comfortable staying there. The recent Yelp reviews showed a very different picture from what I expected: multiple guests mentioning roaches, dirty rooms, outdated facilities, poor maintenance, unexpected charges, bad customer service, parking/security concerns, and the hotel going downhill after no longer being affiliated with DoubleTree. One review even mentioned a roach in the coffee maker, and another mentioned a vehicle being hit in the hotel’s gated lot, which was especially concerning because I was planning to bring my Ferrari for a car event. Because of those concerns, I did not check in and tried to resolve the issue through Super.com for hours. I started around 9:40 PM and was still dealing with it close to 2:00 AM. Much of the process felt automated, and when I finally reached live agents, I did not receive a meaningful resolution. The chat was eventually closed without a refund, cancellation, or relocation credit. My issue is not just that I changed my mind. My issue is that this property is being pre
