Medical services in California range from neighborhood family practices to major hospital systems. Ask whether the provider accepts your plan (Medicare, Medicaid or a private insurer), what the copay is and whether a referral is required. Pharmacies can advise on common ailments and many medicines are available over the counter, but a proper diagnosis from a doctor is the safer route for anything that lasts more than a few days.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open Open 24 hours. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (562) 531-2550. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, ucihealth.org.
Its Google rating stands at 2.4 out of 5 from 621 reviews, which is below average for the category; consider the recent reviews carefully before visiting.
Lakewood is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Lakewood follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I loved the doctors and the service , felt the registration person and intake could be retrained in their attitudes if they want a job working with people under intense circumstances. Intake was rude and cold ; no humility displayed whatsoever and very insensitive to me and my situation which is okay because I’m not responsible for her lack of empathy or ability to do the job she signed up for . And then the lady who did my registration had a small bun and still geled her baby hairs lol .she had time and laughs to give security but an attitude and cold dismissiveness while asking is it okay to bill me. We need emotionally mature people in these roles as they deal with a vulnerable part of the community who needs to understand the process they are being put through instead of just collecting information like a robot . I’m so disappointed as I have lived in this community my entire life ,and I love helping people because I’m an empath . I’ve realized how much the world has been corrupted by people in these important systems who just want a paycheck and to get these great roles to feel special but not acknowledge the magnitude of responsibility that comes with it or that there apart

My dad was sent here by emergency through a 911 call. All I have to say is next time the emergency staff will be told to take him anywhere else than this hospital. I have dealt with this hospital in the past many times when it was Lakewood Regional. My mother was hospitalized there several times and the last time was for surgery in 2020. I never had the experience I had with my dad's hospitalization. You would think with the name UCI being the new owners it would be the best of the best as most think of the name UCI. Well unfortunately it is now the worst hospital I have ever had to deal with. The communication between the attending Doctors and the RN's is at kindergarten level. When you call to get an update on your loved one and the RN doesn't even know who the attending doctor is, who would not be alarmed by that? And I didn't just experience it 1 time with 1 RN it was time and time again. This hospital not only is dysfunctional with communication between doctors and RN's but they also are completely disorganized with their case managers. Every hospital I have dealt with including this hospital in the past a patient is assigned a case manager and you deal with that case manager

The wait was so long. I was having a panic attack, tightness in my chest heart area, a headache and soreness in my right arm as if I had lifted weights. I sat outside for 44 mins. Then I got a call back, they took blood, vitals and chest xay. I have been sitting out side for an hour crying uncontrollably. I never had a panic attack an complet stranger walks up to me and starting rubbing my back and a sudden calm came over me. 241p I ask the front desk person (African American) look at the time and find out who this person is because she was very rude. I just asked did she know how much longer before I get my results back before I could finish she interrupted and stated; "I wouldn't know that the nurse and shes on break" it wasn't what she said it was her delivery. She must work on that... Unprofessional in deed. Xray tech was warm sweet and amazing, lab tech the same. UCI must work on the up keeping if the waiting area and waiting time. This UCI is nothing like UCI in Irvine. This location doesn't represent UCI well at all. It is a downgrade to what I've experienced at UCI Irvine.5 p I am still here. 657p I walk up to triage dept because my name has not been called. They look at m

Do not take love ones to this hospital. First of all the ER nurses are very rude. I had to fight for 3 days to get more fluid for my husband. He was on a feeding tube and only given 30cc an hour of food and 50cc of water every 6 hours. That is barely an 8oz cup of water in 8 hours. Not enough for a human. After a couple of days I was finally able to get someone to listen to me. They did set him up on an IV of fluid as they discharged him and sent him to a rehab. He was at the rehab a few day and was sent to PIH Downey, so dehydrated that his blood pressure was so low and his kidney values were dangerously high. He was in CCU for a week to put him back to normal. The nursing staff at UCI does not think for themselves and question anything, they just do whats on the record. As I was told by them.

I visited the emergency room on two different days back to back. On the first day, I was called right away and Maria filipino lady was my nurse, and she took care of all my needs with outstanding customer service. On the second day, I was not assigned to her, but she noticed that I was cold and brought me a blanket. She also asked if I was in pain and arranged for pain medication. She provided the best customer service I have ever experienced in a hospital. I truly appreciate her kindness and professionalism.
