Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

When I lived in Koreatown, back in the first decade of this century, this library was a sanctuary for me. An escape from my life in poverty. As others have mentioned, it's quiet. It's located in a nice area just north of Hancock Park, which is still a fancy neighborhood (unlike Koreatown, which was covered in graffiti when I visited in 2023). When I frequented the library, it had one of the best collections of DVDs in terms of quality films. This was also the period when I was going through all the Jim Thompson books, which the LA library system had. I would have them sent here and make the pleasant walk over and pick them up along with some good classic and artsy movies. A hidden gem in a wild city.

So I've lived in LA since 2007. I think I have been to almost every branch of LAPL. Until I found this one. This library is very cool. Its hidden and small. The cleanest, quietest library out ot all of them. I found my new spot.

Nice space, I come here to work sometimes since I’m a remote worker and need a change of scene from time to time. There’s not as much seating but usually there’s not too many people so there is always a seat available you just gotta end up sitting near some people. The little garden area is cute too so I take my meetings out there. Also the LAPL chain is pretty cool. I now feel like an official LA lady with my library card πŸ€“ lots of benefits

This is my favorite library. The staff is awesome. Always friendly, helpful, and very accommodating, whether it's looking for a book, using the media lab, or adjusting the room temperature. They are also very open and responsive to new book suggestions and requests, which helps greatly in continuing to patronize the local branch rather than having to drive downtown. The collection's pretty diverse and solid for a small facility, the latter fact which also adds to the cozy, neighborhood feel. It's clean, pretty quiet, and rarely crowded. There is plenty of parking in the nearby streets, and cafes within walking distance if you need a coffee or snack run. It doesn't hurt that it's even aesthetically beautiful, situated in a 1920s building with high ceilings and arched windows. Lots of light in the reading room. Love this place!

Beautiful architecture and layout. Mostly quiet, rarely any disruptions like at other locations in this city unfortunately. Clean library with a clean bathroom and even an outdoor patio that looks similar to someone's backyard. This is a great location for studying or doing research. The staff is very helpful and friendly. When the printer broke down, Eric was very great with helping me print my IRS documents. I was able to get everything squared away the next day. This is a wonderful facility with a wonderful staff and I'm glad I found it. Again. Very few disruptions like at other libraries across LA.
