READ THIS, FELLOW CAR ENTHUSIASTS. My experience with this shop has been great. Here’s the story: I’m an idiot, I recently made the emotional decision of buying one of my dream cars (Jaguar F-Type) sight unseen, from a questionable dealership in North Carolina. I expected some minor issues here and there, but it arrived in far worse condition than I expected, there were problems all over. The dealership refused to help me, and I was in a state of panic. Luckily my friend (Michael Lavallee, who runs a unique Turo business, check him out) put me onto this shop, and Mike took me in. Him and his team immediately tackled each issue on my car, one by one. This shop has a wide range of expertise and tries really hard to get your car back to you as fast as possible. Best of all, their pricing is very competitive. I highly recommend working with Mike, Alex, and their team. They run a very underrated operation. However, they sometimes have a ridiculous amount of work, so be patient & understanding if the queue is long. I’m glad I was introduced to this shop and will be making them my main guys moving forward.

Got my car serviced yesterday for my rear drum brakes, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. Mike did an outstanding job at a very fair labor price, especially since I already had the parts. He completed the work in just a few hours before closing, and the quality of the service was excellent. I had an outstanding experience with Auto Repair Specialties, especially Michael. My morning started with a check engine light coming on, so I went to AutoZone to have the code read. The diagnosis pointed to a coolant thermostat malfunction. I was also convinced that my car needed a full tune-up and fully expected to pay for one. When I brought my car in, Michael immediately impressed me with his honesty. Even though I came in expecting a tune-up, he told me he wanted to inspect the vehicle first because he didn't want me spending money on repairs I didn't actually need. That level of integrity is hard to find. After a thorough inspection, Michael confirmed that my spark plugs, ignition coils, cabin air filter, and brakes were all in excellent condition and did not need replacement. Many shops could have easily sold me unnecessary services, but Michael was completely upfront and honest. He identified the real problems: a failed coolant thermostat and a damaged serpentine belt. What makes this even more impressive is that all of this was done on a Sunday morning, and my car was repaired and ready to go within about three hours. Pep Boys has been my car repair shop for many years, the mechanics have always been professional and provided great service. I have a great respect for Mr. Myron and his staff. Pep Boys listens to your concerns about your car maintenance and responds accordingly, making me feel good regarding my car repairs, battery, oil change, tires,etc. whatever maintenance is needed. I hope this Pep Boys stay around in this neighborhood, it is very convenient for me and others who live in the area.

I’ve taken my car here a few times now and every experience has been great. He has always been honest and willing to work with me when it comes to pricing, which I really appreciate. He replaced my engine and even provided me with a rental while my car was in the shop, which saved me a lot of money and stress. Most recently, I dropped my car off to get my brakes fixed and they were completed the same day. This is officially my go-to mechanic and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for reliable and trustworthy service.
