I hadn't been to the Beverly Center in years, so I decided to pay it a visit. I walked the entire mall, from the top floor to the bottom. The Beverly Center has been around for more than 40 years (it opened in 1982) and has seen its share of ups and downs. It underwent a massive renovation that took years to complete, with the COVID-19 pandemic slowing things down even further. While it hasn't regained the energy of its glory days, I still enjoyed the visit. The mall is spotless, spacious, and for those who remember it in its heyday, there's a real time-capsule feeling if you know where to look. My favorite part was the top floor (the 8th... or maybe the 9th?). It feels like a ghost mall. Nearly every store is gone. H&M, Forever 21, Vans—they've all disappeared. The food court is gone too, hidden behind a fake wall that cuts the space in half. Even the large movie theater, once a nine-screen complex, has vanished. So what did I like? While in LA my husband and I were invited to an art showing on the 9 floor. It was our first time in the building so we walked around to get familiar as we expected to shop later. After going through the art gallery there was a man standing waiting for us near the escalator. I found it strange when he turned out to be an employee there. He made up some story when we both began to walk passed him. He claimed he was with marketing and needed to take a picture of pedestrian looking at a sign. Later we saw him at the security desk. My husband and I are not theives. We were going there to purchase art and shop. After that encounter we just left and found somewhere else to shop. Very weird place. Or at least the employee was weird. Grey haired man with glasses about six feet tall slender wearing a dark blazer and appeared to be judgemental in stature. Im sure many know who he may be if they've been appriached by him.

We went to the Santa's Secret Burlesque Show. We had the best time. The show was so entertaining and all of our first Burlesque show. So lots of fun Shock Value, good laughs, we sang and just enjoyed our first show.

I recently visited the Beverly Center in L.A. and here’s how it felt: Parking was a breeze and super affordable (just ~$2 for an hour or two). The mall itself is sleek and well-laid-out — plenty of escalators and one elevator to help you move up to levels 6 and 7 with ease. On those top floors you’ll find the anchor stores (like Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s) plus luxury brands (think Prada, Louis Vuitton) and more accessible shops (Victoria’s Secret, Zara, H&M, Banana Republic). The six-floor lounge zone has lovely chairs, a calm vibe, and a few eateries to pause and recharge. I liked spending most of my time there. That said — if you’re looking for routine shopping or mid-price finds, keep in mind this place skews upscale and I found I couldn’t just pop in and pick up something casual at a bargain. If you’re after brands like Macy’s in full scale, then you might be better off elsewhere. This macys was missing some core women’s brands. On the plus side, across the street from Beverly Center there’s the Beverly Connection (and a nearby Target LA Beverly at 8480 Beverly Blvd) which offer more budget-friendly options.
