San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I had an amazing experience at CAVA today! The food was absolutely deliciousβ€”fresh ingredients, generous portions, and every bite was packed with flavor. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and my bowl was prepared perfectly. What truly made this visit exceptional, though, was the outstanding customer service from Ms. Lawanda. She was welcoming, professional, and genuinely kind from the moment I walked in. Her positive attitude and attention to detail made me feel valued as a customer and elevated the entire dining experience. It's rare to come across someone who takes such pride in their work and goes above and beyond to make guests feel appreciated. Ms. Lawanda is a true asset to the CAVA team. I'll definitely be returning, not only for the great food but also because of the excellent service she provided. Thank you, Ms. Lawanda, for making a great meal even better!

Had the falafel bowl and pita chips. Very delicious and very ok for the price. It’s not the best ambience to sit-in, though outside is fine, you can watch the liveliness of the streets. Staff is friendly, helped me out on what to select, as I was a newbie. Would come again!

Had the spicy lamb and avocado bowl, which was delicious. Star deducted for the extremely slow service: only two people in front of me, but still took 15 minutes from getting in line to getting my bowl. Other issue was the lentils were undercooked; similar to pasta, they weren’t el dente, they were crunchy. Would still recommend based on the overall quality of food.

Miss Lawanda is fantastic! During my first visit 2wks ago I watched her patiently help and train a new employee who was stressing and struggling with wrapping our overstuffed pitas lol🌯 this was during a heavy rush hr lunch line that was out the door btw. Miss Lawanda kept everything running very smoothly and still managed to engage with everyone in line. When she helped me today there was no one in line and only 2 people at a table..her energy was still the same. We laughed the whole time..she’s so personable and makes the experience at Cava so enjoyable. (Photos from both visits)

Update: 02/2026 Ordered using the app and it was a better experience. It was ready a on time and made to perfection. My friend has never tried CAVA before and she she's a picky eater, she loved her salad. I'm glad the ap is very user friendly. Ordering in person is chaotic with the consistently long line. Will definitely return to this location again. The half order of the lamb meatball with sweet potatoes was really good and very satisfying. The salad had many components that went really well together. Service was aggressive and unfriendly.
