Unfortunately, I really wanted to love my experience at CorePower Yoga DTLA, especially as I’m newly postpartum and looking to diversify my workout routine. I attended a Core Strength class using an intro offer, and while the workout itself was solid, I didn’t feel particularly welcomed as a new guest. I had a few basic questions (like where to put used mats and where the water dispenser was), and the responses I received felt somewhat dismissive. At one point, I was told the “studio is small,” which didn’t feel very helpful in the moment. I’ve tried several workout studios in downtown, and this was one of the less welcoming experiences I’ve had so far. That said, I’m open to trying another class with a different instructor, as I know experiences can vary. For anyone new, I’d recommend going in with a specific instructor recommendation if possible.

The exterior they can only do so much since it is LA but the interior is kept clean. I’ve always enjoyed all the yoga classes that I’ve attended and I always feel much better (physically and mentally) coming out of the studio than I do coming in. Just a call out for those thinking about the logistics of coming: Corepower does validate for parking but if the parking garage’s machine is being faulty/buggy for some reason (like it was for me), you’ll have to pay to get out since none of their buttons were working so I couldn’t get help and I don’t think they had a parking attendant on-site (at least not when I went).

One of the worst workout experiences I have had. The sculpt class I took was extremely awkward. There was very little cues, no rhythm to the class. The instructor was monotone, low energy, seemed like a robot. The instructor wandered around the class, clapping off beat and seemed lost. The flows were clunky and seemed like she was always searching for what to say next. The music did not match the tone of the exercise we were doing. Needs a lot more practice at saying cues and working through the rhythm and energy of the class…. This was not even the worst of it… The studio was extremely dirty (which I have to say not many LA corepowers are very clean) but this was especially gross. The studio itself smelled like urine. Then in the women’s bathroom both toilets were out of order and the bathroom was a mess. Not to mention there were men working in the bathroom so if you wanted to change you had to just pull the shower curtain over with them in there trying to fix the toilet. I feel like if there are no working facilities probably a sign to just close the studio for the day and get things in order. I will never ever come back to this studio. I have taken hundreds of workout classes

Great central location with great Yoga practitioners. The sequencing isn't always quite sequential as I prefer but the flows are still great and well coordinated. You can expect the same sequencing some weeks which can be great at times as our human selves do appreciate things that are familiar. I generally prefer slower gentle flows and this location meets somewhere in the middle with that which has worked out. Studio is heated but not too hot like some heated Yoga locations. Hence the name, the studio does focus on the core area for part of the workout which is great as I think the core is an essential that is often overlooked. Besides this studio I've also enjoyed Boheme studio in DTLA and some other gym studios and wellness sessions offered by the locality. Overall, good central location with great teachers. Would recommend and they do accept HSA (and FSA?) which is a nice bonus. Invest in yourself it's worth it.

Super glad I found this place. I’m just getting into yoga (only done it a handful of times before) and I’m a little taken aback by how welcoming the teachers are…. Welcoming like I’ve never experienced before. My first class was here was C2 with Amy, I made a mistake and showed up at the wrong place for my next visit and Sydney was incredibly patient and kind in helping me figure out the schedule/class types, and I just finished a HPF class with Ken. The actual yoga class is amazing but there’s a whole separate appreciation for the culture of this place. This is what I needed in my life and I’m really glad I found it!
