Discovery Meadow is a wonderful place to relax in the heart of downtown San Jose. The park is clean, spacious, and well maintained, with plenty of open lawn, walking paths, and public art. It’s a great spot for a picnic, a peaceful stroll, or simply enjoying the sunshine. Its location next to museums and other downtown attractions makes it an excellent place to take a break while exploring the city. Highly recommended!

This open plain opens to Monopoly in the Park and Children’s Discovery Museum with open air environment. There is no shade no trees so be aware of strong Sunny days and rainy days. Discovery Meadow sits close to the Trainline and public transportation. Some parking is available in the street but very difficult. This is a nice place to walk-through. We enjoyed having a nice pickling picnic lunch on the greenery.

I recently attended the Super Bowl drone show at Discovery Meadow in San Jose (2026), and overall it was a really enjoyable experience. First off, the fact that this event was completely free deserves recognition. Events of this scale are rarely accessible to everyone, and it was refreshing to see something so well attended without a ticket barrier. The evening itself was lovely. The weather cooperated, the crowd energy was positive, and the drone show was impressive to watch against the night sky. It felt like a genuine community moment with people spread out on blankets, families and friends enjoying the night, and a relaxed, festive atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and enjoy the show. The music was a bit too loud in certain areas. That said, parking was definitely a bit of a hassle. This is somewhat expected for a major event in a popular area, but it did take extra time and patience to find a spot. Planning ahead or arriving early is definitely recommended. One thing worth noting is that the grass in several areas was extremely wet, which quickly turned into mud once people started settling in. Came for the SJ26 drone show right before superbowl LX. I thought the Monopoly board was so cute although I don’t know if you could actually play without money and houses and tokens lol
