An Uber driver recommended Kiko’s for fish tacos. Found out it’s under new ownership so the name changed, but still same employees and recipes. Food was everything we were craving! Got the OG shrimp tacos, fish tacos, San Filipe, and Chingon. Faves were San Filipe and fish tacos, but it’s all good. Also had amazing salsas, chips, and soup! Everyone there was extremely friendly too. Definitely coming back every time we visit San Diego!

I usually don’t write reviews, but this place is AMAZING. Such an underrated spot in downtown compared to all the other food spots. This place deserves way more attention. You are really missing out if you don’t come here. The service, quality, and food is 10/10 and I rarely give a score like that. Check them out! I come here every other day

Love this place!!! If you live in the Gaslamp area, this is a must try. Affordable prices, consistently bomb food (no matter what you try, the menu goes HARD), and the people that work here are great. Always very quick service too. Also!!!! Weekly specials are a really sweet deal.

As someone who lives in San Diego and eats here at least twice a week, I can honestly say El Camaron Negro has the best fish tacos in San Diego. The fish is always incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and consistently delicious every single time. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. There fish stew is amazing. The guys who work there are awesome—friendly, welcoming, and they always make you feel like a regular. Service is fast, which makes it the perfect spot to grab a quick lunch during the workday. If you’re downtown and craving amazing Baja-style fish tacos, do yourself a favor and stop by. In my opinion, this is hands down the best quick lunch spot in all of downtown San Diego. I’ve tried a lot of places, and I keep coming back here for a reason. Highly recommend!

I was so surprised to find a place in Downtown San Diego where the food, price, and service are all perfectly combined. The ceviches, shrimp tacos, and fish tacos are delicious, and the portions are generous. Highly recommended; you have to try the guava water—it's my favorite. !!!
