San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Old-school ice cream perfection! You can’t beat a classic walk-up ice cream stand. The menu selection is massive—everything from PB&J Twisters to Nerds blenders and classic soft-serve sundaes. Everything comes out fast, cold, and packed with toppings. It’s pure nostalgia in a cup. A must-visit whenever you're craving a sweet treat!

Honestly, Foster’s Freeze never misses when you’re craving that classic, old-school fast food vibe. The soft serve is elite. You can’t go wrong with a dipped cone or a milkshake (the chocolate banana is a personal favorite). Their fries are always hot and perfectly salty, and the burgers are shockingly good for a dessert spot. It definitely has that nostalgic, retro charm, and the service at this location is always super quick and friendly. Perfect spot to hit up on a warm night with friends. Will definitely keep coming back!

I got garden burger and zucchini fries. Taste wise they were okay. But this place has a lot of potential

Kicked off the year with a Fosters Double Decker in Japantown—double patties, double cheese, bacon, veggies, and that tangy Fosters sauce. Juicy, cheesy, and messy in the best way. Only two staff members were holding it down, and it’s good to see Kabayans (Fellow Filipino) running the show. Classic drive-in comfort food with a side of Filipino pride and friendly vibes. 🤙🇵🇭

This is a great place that serves more than ice cream delights. The chili burger is an upgrade over my usual chili dog and here they are 100% Nathan’s beef dogs. The popcorn shrimp looked good too but the chili burger won So many choices for my u e cream PBJ, Heath, brownie Cherry, Oreo Mint so I went old school Brownie. Yummy This venue has no inside venue or service. It’s takeaway or dine out on their non movesbke tables. It’s on the corner of N 4th street and it’s a busy intersection. Accessible height corner to order and to pick between PBJ, Heath, Oreo Lime or Cherry Brownie just to mention a few on the long list. So I choose old school Brownie shake. Yum yum. Service is efficient. Order and pickup counter are accessible tables are non moveable Accessible parking in the street with somd spots free for 2 hours and some charge paid by app or credit card.
