The hippest burger ever. Staff amazing and genuinely invested in you having a great experience. Cool and fun old custom license plates on the wall keep your eyes occupied when not people watching. The burgers are perfect and juicy. High quality ingredients. Watch out for the milkshakes, they are giant. Had to rub my belly for hours…happily. Never miss a chance for hodads anytime I come thru Ocean Beach. There’s a reason the line is down the block. It moves fast, so don’t second guess it. Worth the wait and the legend.

Loved the place 🌊🏄🏽‍♂️🚐🍔🍻! I think the vibes are great, and the service was very kind. Not sure about the burgers, we ordered the Guy Fieri “Guido Burger” and it was kinda meh, especially for the price. Great beer. 🍺

The WINNER and STILL CHAMPION is Hodads at Ocean Beach!!! The opponent this trip was Seven Brothers on Oahu, but after finishing the last bite and wiping away a tear, Hodads keeps its title as my favorite burger and burger joint in all my travels. First off, if you’re in San Diego, this should be your only must-visit. I rarely go back to places I’ve already reviewed, but Hodads is a MUST, non-negotiable!!! The dining room is not fancy and looks like a teenager’s bedroom with stickers and license plates adorning the walls. While the burger speaks for itself, whether you get the mini, reg, or double, the patties are thick, juicy, with fresh veggies and a soft, sweet bun to soak up those juices. This goes for the onion rings too, that don’t seem to come out of the dryer in a bag. At the end of the day, the service was fast and friendly and carried the ocean vibe a Cali burger joint should have. I even picked up my Hodads T-shirt to probably advertise on my travels! My only question and curiosity is in the fries. I’m not a fan of wedges, and I feel like my last visit, they were thick-seasoned traditional fries. Fries or wedges, it will never change how I feel about Hodads!!!

We were visiting San Diego from Dallas, TX and stopped at Hodad's Ocean Beach. We had a very large party of 20 and Chris, the manager was so accommodating. We only waited 20 minutes, they were packed, but the service was fantastic. The entire wait staff was super helpful. Chris made some great recommendations for our group since it was our first time. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The burgers were great and so were the shakes. We will definitely be back. Thanks Chris and the rest of the staff!!!

I have been to Hodad’s and it was hands down the best burger I have EVER had. After spending the day near the beach, it was the perfect way to wrap everything up. The whole place has a laid back, beach-town vibe that just fits the experience. The burger was unreal… juicy, flavorful, and stacked exactly how a burger should be. Every bite was messy in the best way possible. You can tell they don’t cut corners, and it shows in the quality and taste. The bun held everything together, the toppings were fresh, and the meat was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere made it even better. It’s casual, a little loud, and full of personality. It felt like a spot that’s been doing things right for a long time. If you’re anywhere near the beach in San Diego, this is a must. I couldn’t think of a better way to end the day. I would go back again without even thinking about it.
