We hired Onyx to build a detached 720 square foot ADU in Mar Vista. He beautifully designed and built us a one story, 2bd full kitchen and bath! Sean handled the permits which I was most nervous about but Cam’s team handled that part with ease! The process of building our ADU was 7 months, which was right on schedule! Sean sent us updates every time a milestone was achieved! We are having our first tenant move in and were getting 3100$/monthly! Definitely worth the investment with Onyx!

We did a full kitchen, guest bathroom, and custom cabinet remodel with Onyx General Construction, and the experience was excellent. Sean provided a reasonable quote, not the cheapest, but he brought in high quality tradespeople who showed up on time every day and even finished the project ahead of schedule. He kept us informed about any unforeseen costs or change orders and helped us make smart decisions along the way. The drywaller he used was fantastic, seamlessly matching everything, and the custom cabinet suppliers were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to ensure we were happy. Finding a reliable contractor can be tough, but Sean exceeded our expectations and made sure we were well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Throughout this year I met a number of contractors to build an ADU in the near future. He came recommended by a friend for his attention to detail, which is very important to me. I did see some of his work (ADU) and I can say his work is beautiful and clean, with the attention to detail that I would expect from a professional contractor. But where Sean stands out among many other contractors for me is in his care and attention towards clients. He is kind, clear communicator, responsive, professional, and patient. He took the time to answer all my questions every time (I had many). He went above and beyond the call of duty to make suggestions on my design (which was being worked on by another company). This level of care for clients and potential clients and his business is rare and what I feel makes Sean a gem in the building industry!

Many people share horror stories about their experience with a contractor but mine was far from that. Sean is a joy to work with. He is very communicative, responsive and flexible. He listens to the needs and desires of his clients and always aims to please. He did excellent work, went above and beyond and is extremely fair. His integrity in all things is top tier and that was very important to me. Honest, trustworthy and respectful. I would hire him again or refer him without question. I love my ADU!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! We hired Onyx General Construction Company for a complete kitchen and laundry room remodel as well as replacing the hardwood flooring throughout much of the house. We chose to go with Onyx after meeting with and receiving quotes from three companies. Sean was very quick in responding to the initial request and providing a quote. The Onyx team started demolition very soon after being awarded the project and made a lot of progress in a short amount of time. Although this project was obviously very disruptive to our daily lives, the Onyx team did everything possible to minimize the impact and the team was very respectful and friendly. They never made any more noise than was necessary to get the work done which I have found to be an issue with many contractors. We went into this project with very high standards and the Onyx team did a great job of meeting them. There were discoveries and problems and delays along the way, but those are expected with a house of this age. Because Sean addressed these challenges creatively and collaboratively, minimizing the financial impact, we feel like we were able to get the desired results without exceeding the budget. Communicati
