The Italian food was delicious! Well maintained, solid service, and great cuisine. We will be back again. Stayed at a hotel close and brought back a couple pizzas for our kids as well.

Category: Trattoria. We were sent there by the Marriott Vacation Club hotel, which is only 1 1/2 blocks away. Located on the ground level of the beautiful El Cortez building, this casual spot was a great recommendation. Tables with red and white checkered tablecloths greeted us at the outdoor tables, setting a tone with just the right mix of vintage Italian and comfy modernism. Inside, the red brick walls were whitewashed, with the white partially rubbed off so the brick shows through. Black and white vintage photos of Italian dining scenes were illuminated by Edison bulbs of various shapes strung from heavy ropes. We almost dined at one of the four bar seats but opted for a table. Glad we did because I ordered the generous shorts ribs and pappardelle finished tableside in a hollowed-out Pecorino cheese wheel. The server used a hand torch to melt the inner surface of the wheel, into which he stirred the pasta and beef, making the mixture super creamy and cheesy, which he then served in a old, well-patinaed frying pan. We tried this restaurant out for happy hour on a Wednesday afternoon at 3 PM. We had made reservations through OpenTable and when we arrived, we were asked if we wanted to sit indoors or outdoors. We chose a table indoors and had a very nice first time experience. We all had the red sangria which was delicious and we watched the bartender make it in front of us. Dry, which is what we like not sweet with a good serving of fruit in it. We had the meatballs, flatbread, and the calamari. Our server came back to tell us that the fryer was just turned on and it would be about 10 minutes, which was fine with us. When the calamari arrived, it was delicious. One note for the restaurant chef is that the calamari could be a little bit more tender. We also discovered that Wednesday nights are 40% off wine night so we ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir, which was delicious and we ordered a second order of the meatballs. Furthermore, we also decided to order lemoncello cake. Which was quite delicious. All in all definitely returning for happy hour and most likely for dinner. Service was stellar. We also met the manager who was explaining to us about some of the ideas they have coming up.

I came here a year ago. So good I came back and brought my family too. I personally am very picky when it comes to Italian food, it is really really good. Honestly the best I've had in the states. The sauce is authentic, amazing flavors. Kids loved it too and something on the menu for all of us. Wine menu is always great and they have listed what pairs with food to perfection. Do not pass up on trying the sausage or the meatballs. Relaxing and calm environment. Dog friendly as well even a menu for your fur baby. I didnt get before photos(excited to eat)
