ParkSJ: Fourth Street Garage

I spent 2+ years using this garage twice a week to volunteer at MLK Library and while the validation works smoothly, I’m annoyed that they recently locked the doors for the stairwell that leads to the closest crosswalk. It feels like a waste of time to be forced into using the elevators when I’m simply parked on the second floor and it does absolutely nothing to stop the people that loiter in the garage and leave the grimy elevators smelling like weed. ParkSJ garages as a whole are poorly maintained so not only does it feel inconsistent to force elevator use here when at others they have been broken for years, but it’s especially concerning as a woman that if I take the stairs down, the doors being closed leaves the bottom of the stairwell in complete darkness.

Accessible location with fair prices, but it does feel a bit odd. Some of the payment machines are vandalized and non functional, but overall this is a solid option for getting parking downtown and doing whatever you need to do in the area.

Payed for monthly parking and had my car stolen within 2 weeks, stripped completely and would not help with any thing besides telling me to file a police report and wouldnt cooperate with obtaining footage. Made the cancellation process difficult, will be continuing to further information as this garage seems to be broken in to often and they take no responsibility. Security seems almost useless, considering they have cameras, seems pointless to have all these things and not take responsibility.

Good parking garage, reasonably priced (compared to the local hotels) and safe. I was a little apprehensive, after reading some previous reviews, but I used this carpark everyday for 2 weeks and didn’t have or see a single issue with any vehicle in the carpark. I would recommend this if staying in the nearby WhyHotel, as it is multiples cheaper than the small amount of parking they have. There are a number of the early spaces as you come in that are 1 hour only, or electric cars so make sure you check. I always drove around a whole loop to the second floor and parked in the corner as there is stairs to access the street straight there. The entrance is quite tight, but that’s quite common in places like this, and certainly the kerbs aren’t as high as some others!

please dont park this parking Lot, its very dangers place to park ,because my car window is broken juts first day I park here, and at the same time 10 cars window is broken, it happens everyday !!!!! And nobody responsible for that. People work here is terrible and they like oh we can’t for anything sorry. Keycard doesn’t work all the time. Even you pay you have to pay out of pocket all the time and tell them it’s not working. So So terrible
