American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

My husband found this amazing and authentic Indian fusion restaurant to go and have some dinner. I honestly came in not knowing what to expect but the expectations was superb. The vibe and atmosphere of the restaurant was on point. The playlist was banging . He ordered three different appetizers and they were full of flavor, taste and texture. Everything my husband ordered was delicious. The best part was when I ordered a Spicy Margarita and it was extra good. I highly recommend everyone stopping by who live locally or passing by to get the full experience. You won't be disappointed with the amazing customer service from the staff and everyone who works here. 10's across the board.

We were vacationing in the Los Angeles area with our family and staying in Hollywood when we decided to give Roots a try. What a hidden gem! We absolutely loved this place. Veer, our server, was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive throughout our meal. The menu is creative, offering unique and delicious options, and every dish we ordered was excellent. If I lived in the area, I would honestly eat here every day. We can’t recommend Roots enough it was absolutely worth the visit!

I enjoyed everything that passed my lips and will be returning soon. I had the Ice tea (personally added some sweetness) and Paneer Masala fries (very Indian flavor twist on loaded fries) to start. My entire was the Verde Encinitas (lovely Mexican road side stop on Indian flavor adventure) and for dessert I sampled the donuts (the glaze is everything) and rice pudding (soothing sweet soup that would be wonderful warm). The place has a cool, eclectic, artistic vibe and the breeze from the front of the restaurant was so brought the outside in, in a pleasant wonderful way. My tour guide was beautiful, welcoming and engaging enough without being overwhelming for this single diner. I would have loved to share her company myself but she had a restaurant to attend to. Roots... I'll see you soon

Chulupa is the best I’ve ever eaten and the best on the menu. It’s a must to eat! Curry is delicious, flavorful, filling, without being heavy. Lots of juicy meat but the tofu is the best. Garlic naan was very disappointing though - very flat, barely any garlic on it. Samosa is delicious - large, filling. Expensive meal but well worth it. Ate here twice during my stay in LA because it was so good. And the chulupa will forever be living rent free in my mind

From the moment we walked in we knew we made the right choice. Great service, thanks to our server Veer! The food was fresh and great portions. The manager checked in on us, which is so appreciated. As a restaurant owner myself, I will definitely recommend this cozy spot, can’t wait to come back!! Bonus points for a delicious cucumber margarita mocktail! We’ll be back.
