For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 4–10 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Rusticucina at (619) 310-5291; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is rusticucina.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.6 out of 5 on Google across 805 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded italian restaurants in San Diego.

I’m so excited I found this place. There’s a reason why they have a lot of good reviews. When I went it was a little quiet there were just larger groups, but the seating at the bar was completely open. It was a lot of food, but I really wanted to try a few different menu items. I thought there was a little too much balsamic on the Brussel sprouts for my liking, but it was still really good. The truffle fries and the cacio e pepe were great too. I didn’t get a photo, but I ordered the crΓ¨me brΓ»lΓ©e to go and that was delicious not overly sweet. Nathan and Ashley were the main ones making my visit so great, but everyone I interacted with was very sweet and made it a wonderful first visit. It’s definitely worth a try and I will be sure to go back whenever I’m back in San Diego.

Our food was amazing , out of the two dishes we ordered I was really blown away by the carbonara- it was super creamy and flavorful. The garlic bread was also awesome very buttery and tasty. The garlic bread was the cheapest items menu and pasta dishes can run you 20-40 dollars depending on what you order . It’s very expensive for a weekly thing but is nice every once in a while.

We had a wonderful dinner! Great server, nice decorations inside and out, and our food was so yummy. The calamari was seasoned nice and the caprese was so fresh. The carbonara was more buttery or cheesey (like I’ve had before in Rome) but still so good. You gotta go

RustiCucina was a fantastic find. My wife and I came for Happy Hour on March 6 and were genuinely impressed. The food was outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and the whole experience felt exceptional. Special honorable mention to the female opener who welcomed us so kindly and to the bartender, who made the experience even better with excellent service. Easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in San Diego.

Best Italian restaurant ever!!!! Been there twice so far. The next day after going is so hard because I just keep dreaming about the food and wish I would go back ASAP. The whole staff is so friendly, attentive and kind. The pasta is beautiful and the braised ribs w mashed potatoes were the best meal ever. Me and bae lovedddd it so much. I truly couldn’t point out anything that lacked or I would have liked differently. Best restaurant ever. Beautiful interior and ambiance. 1000/1000
