My vet closed recently so I was looking for a new vet. They popped up online and I signed up for an appointment. I get a call literally 5 minutes later saying I need to make a deposit $25 for the appointment. How tacky. I’ve never done that for my vet. Even My personal physician. Super random to make a vet appointment and have them calling for cash immediately after. I’m not going to give my business to people who are more interested in my money than my animal. They didn’t ask one question about my dog. Just wham bam give us your money! Pass.

The staff was zero energy and not very kind. We expressed to them early on that our dog was reactive and we didn’t feel comfortable weighing him next to another dog because of this. The vet tech looked at him and us , and said well I still need a weight. Turned around then asked the owner behind her to just move to a different side … why is there not a separate weigh station in a private room? We finally get into the room and after a very traumatizing vet check with the doctor. Nothing was cleared up, we left the vet with only more concerns. She didn’t really give us any direct answers. Said we’d need an xray to rule out any scary stuff (that’d be a 350 charge plus 222 for a radiologist to review) and then said even that wouldn’t be read to give a definitive answer . That we’d need an MRI to be truly sure. After our dachshund was assessed (which was also not fun for him) he then got a blood draw (that we had to do for meds… $200 dollars again.) scam . And then a shot . We sat in the waiting room for another 30 plus minutes with zero communication while my dog sat with me shaking and upset. Traumatized. The staff here is not empathetic towards animals and truly looking to foot you

We had the best veterinary experience we’ve ever had with Dr. Luecking. This was largely also in part to her awesome vet assistant, Bre. I felt well informed of all my options while not pressured. They were awesome about making sure to clearly explain all costs before doing any treatments and gave us a complimentary nail trim while my cat was sedated. We will be using them for all of our pets moving forward.

I’ve been coming here for my pup, Lexi, for years now and I’ve loved all the interaction I’ve had. The lobby is welcoming and spacious to give space for other furry family members and they even have a self-serve coffee stand. The front desk staff are always so kind and helpful. In the back of the office, the technicians and doctors are also just as great! Techs get everything prepped before the doc comes in and then the doctor goes over all the recommendations. There’s so much financial help that the options ease any concern that you might have. I highly recommend coming here for whatever little, or big, family member of yours.

I took my dog to have an annual wellness exam and update vaccines, and was my first visit with San Diego Bay Animal Hospital. The staff was very attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about creating a positive experience for me and my pet. The wellness exam went smoothly, the vaccinations were great, and we left feeling really good about our experience. Dr. Espinosa was very friendly, informative, and cared about my animal's well being which is all you can ask for. Would recommend! The pricing was very fair and made in good faith with total approval needed ahead before any work took place. The office and exam rooms were clean. It can be hard to find a vet that you really like, but after this first visit, we will definitely be back for any future needs.
