Weekday event night was 15 dollars. Lot of space e available. 5 min walk to san jose performing art center.

Parking spots are so narrow, that I was barely able to fit a compact Ford Focus in a spot. The pillars next to the parking spots don’t make parking easier. If you decide to park here, take the smallest car possible, and even then, that’s gonna be a tough task.

Pros: clean, well lit, easy to navigate Cons: they want you to pay before going back to your car, then it took so long to get out that they charged me an extra $2 at the exit for the privilege of waiting to get out (0There were plenty of SUVs parked in compact spots but honestly that’s inevitable here.)

Attended an evening event at the Civic Center. Parked for 3.5hours (6:30-10pm). We paid at the machine before we get to the car. all was good until we realized the line to get out took 20mins due to all the cars leaving at the same time from the event. By the time we got to the exit and insert the paid ticket in the machine, it showed we need to pay $2 more!! WTH. Never had I ever have to pay parking AGAIN for the extra time to get to the exit. Stupid parking lot . Frustrating .

First time parking here on a weeknight and believe the low star rating reviews. If you must park here, take a small compact car since most of the spaces are marked compact and even the ones that are not are just not wide enough for midsized cars side by side unless you trust the other driver not to ding your door. Most sections that are marked for 3 cars end up having only 2 cars parked. If you’re coming for an event, that means most of you will be going out around the same time. Expect long lines since there is not enough pay parking machines. Also, there is only one exit. Expect longer wait times exiting. This will test your patience. Good luck. You’ll going to need it.
