We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding care my son has received at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Rehabilitation. From the very beginning, the nurses and staff have treated him with kindness, compassion, and professionalism. The nurses have been attentive day and night, always checking on him and making sure he is safe and comfortable. Their dedication and genuine care have brought our family so much peace of mind during this difficult time. The food and nutrition provided have also been excellent, helping support his recovery. Every member of the team has shown patience, respect, and a true commitment to their patients. Thank you to everyone for the exceptional care and support you have given my son. We will always be grateful and highly recommend this rehabilitation center.

Unacceptable care and predatory billing! My spouse and I came to this Emergency Room terrified, suspecting acute appendicitis. We ended up waiting from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM just to be seen. Six hours of agony in a waiting room that was in an absolutely terrible, dirty, and rundown condition. When the doctor finally saw us, the "examination" was a complete joke. No MRI, no scans, no blood work - he just palpated the abdomen for a couple of minutes and sent us home. To make matters worse, we just received the bills. A staggering $3,000 "facility fee" for sitting in a dilapidated room, plus an additional $900 "physician fee" for a doctor who barely touched my spouse. $3,900 for 5 minutes of zero effort and 6 hours of waiting. This is not healthcare, this is extortion. Avoid this ER at all costs if you value your health and your wallet.

I had a terrible experience in this hospital in March. Time has not improved my perceptions. I was admitted to the ER with a broken wrist, placed in a filthy open room with other patients and eventually had my wrist reduced and was splinted with a plaster splint. The splint had no give to it, so within 20 hours my hand, wrist and arm had swollen so much that the splint was cutting off my blood supply and I was in agony. I returned to the ER, crying in pain and begging for the splint to be cut off. I had tried to remove it myself and was unable to do so. They literally refused to do anyting until the orthopedic doctor was free to come to the ER, which took hours! I was in agony and sobbing the entire time. My fingers were completely numb. I kept begging for someone to cut it off, telling them it was too tight and I was going to lose my hand. They ignored me. I'm an ICU and ER nurse, so I know what I'm talking about. At one point I screamed at a nurse practitioner to just cut it off! She told me she couldn't until ortho came down. I pointed out to her that my fingers were blue, but she did nothing. I was sobbing, left in a waiting room, rocking back and forth in pain. After several h

I’m incredibly grateful to the pediatrics team at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center for the exceptional care they provided to my daughter during her recent stay for pneumonia. From the moment we arrived, the staff showed genuine compassion, professionalism, and an impressive attention to detail. Every doctor, nurse, and staff member took the time to explain her treatment clearly and made sure we felt informed and comfortable every step of the way. They were not only attentive to her medical needs, but also incredibly kind and reassuring, which made a stressful situation so much easier for our family. It was clear that her well-being was their top priority, and their dedication truly made a difference in her recovery. I can’t thank the pediatrics team enough for their outstanding care and support. We are so fortunate to have such a wonderful medical team in our community.

One of the Whopper families received urgent treatment here, and while the staff moved quickly and professionally, the wait times and communication gaps were noticeable during peak hours. The general care wings are clean and well-equipped, but the scale of the facility can feel overwhelming without a strong advocate present. From a broader lens, SCVMC could easily anchor a capstone project in public health or healthcare administration. Topics like emergency throughput, patient navigation, or county-level resource allocation would be relevant and timely. The indoor garden area stands out—a rare pocket of calm that reminds you healing isn’t just clinical. For families and students alike, this place reflects both the strengths and limits of public infrastructure in a high-demand region.
