San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

North Park has amazing Italian choices and Sono has joined that list. Great wine, amazing service (shout out Paulo), the food, outstanding. Accidentally came across an amazing pairing. But the Bruschetta Porchetta and their Davis Bynum Pinot Noir was the ultimate pairing of bright fruit that was a great balance to the smoked gouda and savory prochetta that added to the experience of the wine. 10/10 see you soon Sono!

Dining at Sono in North Park was such a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the grilled octopus, the branzino with green beans and capers, the prosciutto and arugula pizza, beautifully crafted cocktails, and a delicious tiramisu to finish the night. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. The service was attentive, the atmosphere was inviting, and the entire evening felt truly special. A fantastic spot in North Park that Iβm excited to return to.

Sono was very disappointing. My boyfriend and I decided to try it since we really liked the previous restaurant that was here but it was nothing like that and the food was severely lacking. The atmosphere was great. We both loved the interior design and vibes. This would be great spot to take photos for instagram. However, the food was very disappointing. We ordered the fried eggplant and bread and two things happened - bread was rock solid and we couldnt easily cut it which led to crumbs all over the table. Also, the tomato sauce it was served with lacked any flavor and was not very good. For the fried eggplant, it was not quite what we expected. It was nice and crispy on the outside but it resembled falafel but without any flavor. It was just glue like and cakey on the inside. Bad. As for our entres, I had the rigatoni bolognese which was tasty but nothing outstanding or worth raving over. My boyfriend got the lasagna and was again very disappointed. The lasagna had no flavor and tasted like canned sauce, there was no ricotta (this was included in the menu), and the pasta was very undercooked. For how much the food is and how great the vibe is - this is not a meal that shou

Sono was such a great place for a Friday night out with friends or a date spot! The interior is so cool and aesthetically pleasing, very NYC style. The pasta there is exceptional, the conchiglioni piccanti tasted so different from any other pink sauce in San Diego. It had such a delicious depth to it, I would absolutely get it over and over! The casareece amatriciana was also very yummy, loved the tomato sauce but thought the pork could be a little more crispy. Ocean was the sweetest hostess, loved her fit so much and she had given us complimentary expresso martinis to end our dinner! Would absolutely recommend this place to anyone, local or visitingβ£οΈ
