For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 10 am–2 am. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (619) 955-8220. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, tacoselgordobc.com.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 4,728 reviews, which is a strong result for a mexican in San Diego and suggests consistent service.

San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and San Diego follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Wow! My expectations were really high for this place. It came highly recommended for authentic Mexican-style street tacos, so I have to say the disappointment was significant. If you've had the chance to eat real Mexican street tacos and are hoping to find that same bold, authentic flavor, you probably won't find it here. The presentation is spot on, and they use the traditional cooking techniques, but aside from the asada, the flavors were surprisingly bland. Here's what we tried: - Tripa: Crispy texture, but lacked flavor. - Al Pastor: Great presentation, but very bland. - Cabeza: My husband thought it was okay. - Suadero: Nice presentation, but also bland. - Asada: Absolutely delicious! It had an amazing smoky flavor and was easily the standout—10/10. - Salsas: Unfortunately, every salsa tasted watered down. None had much flavor or heat, which was especially disappointing since good salsa can really elevate tacos. The prices were reasonable, and the restaurant was busy, so I'm guessing the excellent asada is what keeps people coming back. Overall, if you're specifically craving flavorful, authentic Mexican street tacos, this place may not live up to the hype. But if you're

MUST GO AND EAT!!!!!!!! These tacos are the most authentic and genuinely tastiest you can get it. The service is very friendly and easy by lining up at the stations for each different type of meat or fries. I recommend the tacos de ADOBADA (spicy pork) you must try this one. Be prepared to keep going back and getting more, they are that good

Super busy spot with a line out the door, and everything was well organized and moved quickly. The tacos were amazing, especially the carne asada, some of the best I’ve had. Plenty of seating and great options. We found this place on TikTok and were told to go by many locals, and it did not disappoint. Visiting from Indiana and would definitely come back! 🌮

This was my first meal when first visiting San Diego - and it set the bar for what a proper Tijuana style taco should be. I started with a few tacos and went back in to try a Mulas. All perfection! Absolutely amazing across the board, but the Adobada is a solid winner. Their creamy ORANGE drink is also amazing. Just like a melted orange cream float. I learned they have a Las Vegas location where I am from, they are for SURE on my rotation now.

EAT HERE!!! My Lyft driver told me about this place. A little research confirmed it is legit. The food…OMG! It’s a little intimidating at first, but the super helpful security guard/host explained. And all the cooks were patient with newbies. The spicy pork taco is their famous dish - and it was good! I also had the steak and the chorizo tacos - excellent. If it looks like there is a line, it moves fast. I might not ever be able to eat another taco. SO GOOD!!! I ordered mine to go so I could go back to my hotel room and drink wine and watch basketball. The food traveled well and was still delicious.
