For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

San Diego is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Diego is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

To end the night we indulged in what had to be the best ice cream sandwich EVER! Which ever one you decide to go with make sure you warm up the cookies and add heath bar around the edges! Your welcome 😬

Great selection and variety of cookies and ice cream. There’s usually a small line, but they are open late and the line moves quickly. I’d recommend being hungry or splitting an order of the ice cream sandwich. I tried the Caramel Pretzel Fudge with Heath Bar Bits, and Snickerdoodle and Cookie Monster cookies. You honestly can’t go wrong with any combo though.

We got the 1) Cup of Old Fashioned Vanilla ice cream with snickerdoodle cookie 2) Ice cream sandwich with cookie dough ice cream and snickerdoodle cookies 3) Bear Bowl with one scoop of cookies and cream ice cream, one brownie, whipped cream, and hot fudge drizzle. The place was neat and clean. The cookies were all freshly made and warm, straight out of the oven, and the staff was very kind.

We stopped at The Baked Bear and had such a fun treat for the whole family. Building your own cookie and ice cream sandwich made it especially exciting for the kids. There were so many flavor options, and everything tasted amazing. For smaller kids, the one-cookie option with ice cream is the perfect size since the regular portions are quite generous. The location is fantastic, just a short walk from the beach, making it the perfect way to enjoy a sunset by the ocean. The staff were friendly, and the shop had a lively, welcoming vibe that never felt rushed, even on a busy New Year’s Day. Overall, this is a wonderful spot for a sweet treat, and we would definitely come back on future visits!

We loved our visit to the Baked Bear! I love cookies, my kids prefer ice cream - perfect spot for all of us! There was a line out the door even on a random chilly Wednesday in March but it moved plenty quickly. Our kiddos are indecisive sometimes & they were patient with us. We loved that you could pick two different cookie sides. I did the bear batter ice cream (which is a fun blue color) with a Cookie Monster cookies. Kids went Nutella cookies & different toppings. Everyone was super happy! Highly recommend & worth it!
