For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. Typical hours are 5 pm–12 am. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach The Grand at (916) 444-0472; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is thegrandwinebar.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 126 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded bars & pubs in Sacramento.

Sacramento is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Sacramento is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Ari was amazing! Excellent customer service and amazing conversation! As a female customer Ari made sure we were taken care of and comfortable. Drinks were delicious and the vibes were there! 10/10. Amanda & Cat loved Ari!

This place is teeny tiny but bursting with character. I swear the Grand has the most creative cocktail menu in town, and that's saying a LOT. There's always something completely new that I've never had before but fits my tastes perfectly. A friend who has completely opposite tastes feels the same way. It's a highly curated, extremely thoughtful, wholly original menu that changes seasonally. The bartenders are always interesting and full of stories. I don't usually enjoy sitting at the bar, but I ALWAYS try to sit at the bar here and it's always a good time. The only thing that's a bit sketch is to get to the bathroom you have to go up and into a parking garage. Worth it though. Some of my favorite nights on the town in Sacramento have included the Grand.

Absolutely loved spending time at Sacramento smallest bar! I had always passed by this place not realizing it was a beautiful bar but finally got to try it. This is definitely a small bar! The inside has some high top and bar seating and most of the seating is outside. The bar is beautiful, it is intimate, romantic, and perfect for either date night, chill girls night, or a solo date. The manager was great, very friendly and welcoming. He balanced continuing conversation with us as newcomers to the bar and serving those already there. Their menu has a great selection of wines and spirits. I had a glass of the Trefethen and it was great! The wine was perfectly tart and fruity. I’ll definitely be back!

Just because this is the smallest bar in California, doesn’t mean their knowledge is equivalent to their size. If anything, they know more than most bars out there. It’s a very personal one-on-one experience with a professional bartender. The second you walk in, the bartender is able to size you up and make a cocktail on target with your palette. I never have been dissatisfied by this place.

On a recent work trip, I stumbled upon the cutest, coziest, tiniest bar (around 20 seats?) I’ve ever been to, and I love it! For a moment there, I thought I might as well be in a tiny speakeasy bar in NYC! Perfect for a drink or two, after work, happy hour (M-F 5-7p), pre-dinner, & post dinner night cap! The bar program was creative and made me want to try every thing. Wish I had discovered this bar much earlier. Apparently they would change their menus every few months. I had the Jezebel’s Joint which was a mezcal drink. Very well-balanced & flavorful. I highly recommend this bar, if you ever wanted high quality crafty cocktails in Sacramento. The next night, I went back for a different cocktail, Parlay, a pineapple rum with coconut liquor & locally sourced blackberry tincture. So yummy, felt like I was beach side under a cabana ☺️Other than spirits, this bar got great selection of whiskies & interesting lesser-known wines too. Got a cutest patio in front. It's a casual cozy friendly neighborhood bar with quality drinks. Situated next to a big garage and there usually street parkings available. Walking distance from many hotels nearby.
