San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If you need tires fast and affordable, go to Tryme Tires. I went with a used tire($60-$70) and he got it done in under 20 minutes. The owner is an honest guy who will work with your budget and walk you through everything he did. He even recognized me on a recent visit and gave me a $10 discount. Highly recommend.

Beware: Rough Handling & Unprofessional Installation ββI visited this shop for a simple nail patch on my Model Y Performance, and while the speed was impressive, the technical execution was alarming. The technician bypassed the most critical steps of wheel installation: no hand-threading to prevent cross-threading and no torque wrench used for final calibration. βThey used an impact wrench to blast the lug nuts on in one go, which is a massive safety hazard for a high-performance EV that requires a specific 129 lb-ft (175 Nm) torque. Improper torque can lead to warped brake rotors or, worse, snapped wheel studs under heavy acceleration. If you care about your Teslaβs structural integrity and your own safety, I would suggest looking elsewhere or bringing your own torque wrench to double-check their work.

A small but mighty shop. I needed to find an affordable, replacement tire for a β12 VW Beetle that was no longer holding air. Rolled in around 7pm on a Sunday and, even though there were 2 other customers in front of me and the workers were obviously very busy, still were able to check in on me and my car. The options were either a $30-$35 patch or a $70 tire. Ultimately chose to have the tire replaced as the old one was already at the tread wear markers. Fortunately, they had the exact size(different brand from the set I had but I didnβt mind) and got me up and running a little over an hour later. Best part of the experience was that these guys charged $70 for that tire AND the labor. No hidden fees, no BS, just honest, upfront advice and help. As mentioned before, the shop is small so parking can get tough if more than 3-4 people with their cars are there, and itβs attached to a busy gas station, but what they lacked in space they made up for in customer service. The owner had even come out at one point to help me search for a lug nut key when I couldnβt find it in my car. 6 out of 5 stars. And shout out to Ahmad for making this experience so simple and stress-free.

Great tires shop! Had an issue with the tires being balanced or possibly the wheels being over torqued but they took care of the issue promptly. The ride is smooth again. Highly recommended!
