About Barnsdall Art Park
The Department of Cultural Affairs oversees the arts and cultural initiatives and the facilities at Barnsdall Park for residents and visitors. While we do not manage the physical park, we look forward to working with our partner, the Department of Recreation and Parks, to safely re-open the park in the coming months. We are excited to continue offering our City's family and friends a limited amount of hybrid programming at our facilities once the historic park opens again with proper COVID-19 health protocols.

Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Los Angeles follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We did for the first time the wine tasting experience and the Hollyhock House tour and it was phenomenal! Amazing vibes, cool people and loads of great wine. Will be back for more!

A historical gem in the pit of Hollywood. It looks best on an overcast day early in the morning when the Z Gen dog walkers and geriatric athletes populate the upper terraces.

If youβre visiting from out of town and you have 2 hours to kill I would definitely recommend coming here. They open Thursday through Saturday. The house is magnificent and a must see in person. It amazes me how much detail went into all parts of the house. From the beams to light fixtures. Take a trip back in time when creativity was at its peak in the world of modern architecture. I brought my 17 year old son with me and even he had a great time walking around the property.

This is a relatively small park, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with amazing views of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory, and the general palm tree swept landscape of L.A. It's also where you can see Frank Lloyd Wright architecture in person in the Hollyhock House. The house is very angular, but I can see in the almost sand sculpture-like stone carvings the abstract interpretations of the flower. That being said, I wish there were more hollyhocks on the property or maybe they just weren't in bloom. You're free to take all the photos you want outside, but leading into the house I saw a sign saying "No entry without a ticket beyond this point" as well as an image of a camera with a slash across it. Ironically, though, I've seen people post photos of the interior, so I don't know what the deal is with that. Also, it's supposedly closed on Sunday, but I came on a Sunday and the door was open and people were taking a tour. While looking at Google Maps, I saw that there's another Frank Lloyd Wright building they're working on called Residence A, but as of right now I don't think it's open to the public yet. Since looking at the outside of the Hollyhock House and

Great sunset view of Los Angeles. as well as the Hollywood hills with the iconic Hollywood sign and Griffith observatory visible from the distance. Lots of picnics happening on weekends, and the available Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery nearby.
