My experience with artist Filip Fabian at Black and Blue Tattoo was fantastic. I had given Fill only a basic description of what I wanted: Bright colors, California wildflowers (especially poppies and lupine), a bluebird, and a monarch butterfly. When I walked into the studio that morning, the sketch he had prepared took my breath away. We adjusted the details and placement together, and he made sure it would look beautiful from every angle. The studio had a nice vibe. He played music while he worked. We took breaks every 40 minutes. The whole tattoo took 4.5 hours of needlework. It was my first tattoo, and he made sure I was comfortable throughout. He gave me clear advice for aftercare, and he said I could reach out with any questions as it heals. The whole experience was great. Watching the tattoo emerge throughout the day was magical. Now, I can’t take my eyes off of it. It’s such a work of art. It holds a lot of meaning to me, and I love how he brought it to life. Filip Fabian is an extremely talented artist, and I highly recommend him.

Love this shop. Folks are awesome and welcoming. Place is immaculate and comfortable. My artist (Anna) was super and has done a fantastic job. I really love her art sense and style. Looking forward to having more work done. Thank you!

The Occidental shop is so dreamy! The skylights and plants—the whole vibe is inspiring and cozy. Idexa works with her own intuitive process in collaboration with you and your body. It’s a whole experience spending time with Idexa, both as a human and as an artist. My experience over several hours getting work from this artist is that she really pays attention to your experience and is good at changing things up if you are getting overwhelmed. But she is super light handed, so I find I can sit longer with her than some other artists I’ve worked with.

I’ve been tattooed by Jax, Gauge, and Androidoh at this shop. They are all awesome tattoo artist that worked with me to produce art that I love and is meaningful to me. They are professional in every sense and a lot of fun to talk to during a session. Here are three of mine from these artists. They all healed beautifully! I have two more that I am waiting to heal before taking pics. Highly recommend!

I came here for the first time about six months ago to support a friend who got her tattoo from Maggie. The staff was nice and her design came out nice. Going along with her made me think more seriously about getting my first tattoo. I booked an appointment with Sid and he was fantastic. He walked me through the whole process and made me feel very comfortable throughout the whole sitting. At some points it was almost relaxing with the classical music in the background. I am a very anxious person so I'm very glad that I tagged along with my friend last year and was exposed to Black and Blue! I'm very happy with my new ink.
