When I arrived, there was bad communication from the staff and the guests were like zombies. There were fleas in the entry way sofas where people were eating. The lockers were super sketchy as was the vibe in that place. My buddy and I paid for 6 nights and did not read the fine print. No refunds. We ended up getting a hotel room for our stay here in LA. Do not let the pictures and positive reviews trick you. I would honestly rather sleep in my car. There was no outlets in the bedrooms and only a couple in the shared living room that sketch guys were sitting around. Hard pass on ever considering a hostel again. I won't let my kids stay there either. Ever. Ewe...

The place doesnβt look like the pictures. It was not super clean. It is a self check in so no staff there except for cleaning. Look like some men were staying there long term, even one of them slept on the sofa. All night long I heard people coming in and out of the hostel waking me up. The only positive thing was that I was in the womenβs dorm so my door was locked. This is the only thing that make me feel safe.

Overall, my stay was mixed. Most people seemed nice, although I only interacted with one or two individuals directly. I generally kept to myself, was respectful, and had no issues during my stay. However, I had a frustrating experience regarding booking extensions and communication. I consistently booked my stays a day in advance and have text and email confirmations to support that. At one point, the house manager, Terrence, asked if I planned to extend, and I clearly said no at the time. Fast forward today which was my check out, I was told that I had supposedly informed the house cleaner that I extended my stayβwhich is completely untrue. I never had that conversation with her, and if I were to extend, I would have done so either online or directly through the manager. Additionally, the communication I received via text (from an overseas contact) felt unnecessarily rude and accusatory. I was even threatened with statements like βwe will not take this kind of behavior,β which was confusing given that I had been calm, quiet, and respectful throughout my stay. It honestly felt like there was a misunderstandingβor possibly that someone simply didnβt want me there. Either way, I

I strongly advise NOT to stay at Burlington Hostels. My experience was a complete nightmare. First of all, the hygiene was terrible. Everything was covered in dust, and the floors were filthy. It felt like it hadn't been cleaned in ages. More importantly, the security is non-existent. The main gate to the property was never locked, meaning anyone could walk in off the street. To make matters worse, the PIN code for my room was changed multiple times without notice, leaving me unable to enter my own room. The worst part is that my Beats headphones were stolen from inside the room. I suspect the housekeeping staff went through my bags, but regardless of who did it, the environment is unsafe and the guests/staff are untrustworthy. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. Your safety and belongings are at risk here.

Unfortunately, this is the worst hostel that I have stayed in. The hostel is occupied by 10+ long term residents, who are friendly. The rooms are smelly, unclean and untidy. Some of the lockers don't work. My bed was extremely uncomfortable and I was essentially sleeping on the floor. The kitchen is very dirty, cupboards are full of trash, hardly any cooking equipment. It is also very small for 24 people. The tap water is unsafe to drink due to damaged and dirty pipes, and must be filtered before use. The check in process was not seamless either, although a tenant helped me to figure this out. Although not the fault of the hostel, the local area is very dirty and felt somewhat unsafe The hostel is cheap and is close to central los angeles, however I cannot reccomend staying here.
