This hostel is very unsanitary and they are in deliberate violation of city health codes. They do not change the bed sheets, the bathrooms are full of mold, hair, and there are fly infestations everywhere. I caught a male staff late at night as he came into the women's flamingo room to change out the bed sheets for a new guest and he did not change them out with clean bedding. He took the used, unwashed bedding from a guest who checked out earlier and put them on the new guests bed!!!! Do not stay here! You get what you pay for!

First time here. Umm…I can’t say it”s a “hostel”. Doesn’t look nice as pictures advertised. Don’t recommend. Low standard for hygiene and cleanliness in bedrooms and bathrooms. At least should separate female/ male shower room. Especially, Pod room, it’s so hot, tiny space for bed and low ceiling. Not for long stay. I stayed one night in mixed female dorm, one guest ate her food in the room without considering of others.

I would not recommend this hostel. The facilities are not sanitary, and the rooms were cold, installed with portable heaters meant to be used in a small stationary space for a single person. Also, didn’t feel that nice knowing most times I would be paired with male roommates. You can find someplace more private and cleanly for a little bit more in the area. Normandie Hostel in East Hollywood and Winona Hostel in Hollywood are alternate options you can consider.

I just finished my stay here. I did enjoy it. I felt safe. I was in a room with multiple people but we all just carried on with our own days and didn't really interact. The free breakfast was cereal and some fruit. You are allowed to bring in your own food. They also have some cooking materials so you can also cook your own food. Is this as nice as a 5 star hotel? No. The bed wasn't the most comfortable thing for instance. But for $150 for 4 days and feeling safe, this is a great hostel! I am only giving 4 stars for the location as while there is good connections to the LA bus and metro system, there is much physically around the hostel to do in walking distance.
