Medical services in California range from neighborhood family practices to major hospital systems. Ask whether the provider accepts your plan (Medicare, Medicaid or a private insurer), what the copay is and whether a referral is required. Pharmacies can advise on common ailments and many medicines are available over the counter, but a proper diagnosis from a doctor is the safer route for anything that lasts more than a few days.

I've been visiting Calm San Diego for over a year. I initially came here because I had a back injury that wasn’t improving with medicine. I called for an urgent appointment, and Angela kindly scheduled me for the very next day with Jenna. I've had the pleasure of seeing all of them, and they’re all wonderful—they each have their own special approach and truly healing hands. Calm is my favorite “me time spot”.

Jenna is amazing! When I first started seeing her, I had low energy and tons of issues. Now I feel like I’m a whole different person and have learned so much about my body. Would 100% recommend. They also take insurances which is hard to find and Angela helps make it a breeze!

I’ve been seeing Angela for the past few years to manage chronic pain from military-related injuries and trauma, and I can honestly say she has made a huge difference in my quality of life. From the moment you walk into Calm, you can feel the intention behind the name. The environment is peaceful, and every session leaves me feeling deeply relaxed. I often find myself drifting into one of the best naps I’ve had in a long time while on her table. What really sets Angela apart is her professionalism and adaptability. She always takes the time to ask, “Where does it hurt?” before every session, making sure the treatment is tailored to exactly what I’m dealing with that day. Her technique—especially with tissue massage and cupping—is outstanding, and I’ve never had any issues with needle placement. She’s precise, attentive, and clearly experienced. After each visit, I notice a real improvement in my mobility—I’m able to walk better and move with less pain. That kind of consistent result is something I don’t take for granted. Another huge bonus is that she’s in-network for veterans, which makes accessing this level of care even more valuable. If you’re dealing with chronic pain or

A little personal experience from Calm San Diego. For my health, I couldn't have found a better local place then with Jenna Sandborn, a Licensed Acupuncturist (L. Ac) at Calm Accupunctue in Kearny Mesa. They will soon be moving to 4909 Murphy Canyon Road, ste 410, in May 2026. On my initial visit, Jenna spent about a 1/2 hour getting to know me & drilling me for my health background & then went to work on me with her Accupunctue expertise. It was an amazing alternative experience to traditional western medicine & I'm glad I got Jenna. She put me at such an ease, going thru this experience & learned so much about my health, that she understood me better than any doctor I've ever had. It was definitely my very best acupuncture, or even health experience ever! Jenna really seemed to care exponentially. It was amazing. I've NEVER had anyone in the medical profession listen to me so thoroughly, yet, in this profession, Jenna took the time to listen & was the best. She knew what was going on with me and remembered the details when I came back. Besides her great work with accupuncture on me, she also offered many suggestions and recommendations, always ensuring I check with my d
