Fantastic location, great staff, great amenities, and spacious rooms. I really enjoyed our family stay here. It's in a solid location where you can reach any part of San Diego within 20 mins by car, but also you can walk to the main beach in a couple of minutes, and have lots of great breakfast and dinner spots that are just a few steps away. It is also nice and quiet at night. The pool is great, and there are often things going on in the hotel. The restaurant is right on the bay and has some good sushi. The rooms are a little old, that's probably the only complaint, but they are a good size and the staff do a great job keeping them nice and clean. Also the grounds are excellent which creates a great vibe. I would totally stay here again.

We stayed in the ground-floor Beach Acres room with a king bed. The photos for the room we reserved showed both a king bed and a sofa, but when we arrived there was only a small chair. When we asked about the sofa, the front desk told us that “it sometimes has a sofa,” which was disappointing since the photos were one of the reasons we chose that room. We’ve stayed here before in a room with two beds that was more centrally located, but this time we were tucked away in the corner of the property. Since the hotel is pet-friendly, the entire area around our room smelled strongly of dog urine and feces. Unfortunately, there were also what appeared to be urine stains on the carpet inside the room, and the patio still had balloons and trash left behind from the previous guests. I do want to say that the front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful, and I know some of these issues were outside of their control. For the price of staying here, I expected the rooms and outdoor areas to be better maintained. I also think the room photos should accurately reflect what guests will actually receive so expectations are set appropriately.

Good for one night only. Beautiful lobby and entrance, but the rooms are quite dated with old carpet and there’s an air conditioning unit right next to the bed. No ventilation in the bathroom, which had also hair from the previous guests. Did not look like the pictures. $45 per night for self parking. 2 stars for location and free water bottles

Dont stay here if you value cleanliness or service. We rented a Beachfront Suite for 5 days - which is supposed to be their best rooms (and most expensive). It’s all a bit misleading as we checked in early Saturday afternoon and there was a corporate retreat occurring on the lawn and beach in front of our patio that has the “beachfront” view. When they host events (which has been throughout our entire stay) your beach view gets blocked and you’re just watching their event. We have 6 and 3 year old boys and we are generally pretty laid back. There is a large tree about 15 feet from our patio (which kids constantly love to play on), so there were tons of kids and people in general just chilling and partying 15 feet from our patio for long periods of time. So we didn’t really get to enjoy our “beachfront” at the beginning, but the worst part is there was a ton of trash left behind. Crushed plastic cups and crushed soda cans among many other items. Sunday morning rolls around and all the trash is still laying out near our patio. It’s one thing if the resort is going to host corporate events and overwhelm your space, but it’s another to not clean up appropriately afterwards. It app
