For a place to eat or drink, the questions that matter most are simple: is it open now, how long is the wait at peak hours, and does the menu suit the group you are bringing. American restaurants typically run lunch and dinner services with a quieter stretch in between, coffee shops open early, and many kitchens close earlier on Sunday. Cards and tap-to-pay are accepted almost everywhere, a tip of 15-20% is customary for table service, and sales tax is added at the register.

San Jose is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Jose is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

I think the food here was good, but it didnβt really wow me. The service was fairly quick, and the atmosphere and interior design are beautiful. The restaurant menu is relatively small. I tried the seafood pasta, which was a bit bland for my taste. The first floor is a bakery and dessert shop, and the tiramisu was actually very good. Unfortunately, we arrived too late and the tiramisu croissant was already sold out. Hopefully I can try it next time. The third floor is the restaurant dining area and also has a section selling various Italian foods and specialty products, which was fun to browse.

βββββ 10/10 Experience! This cooking class was one of the highlights of my birthday night. We took the pasta making class and had the most incredible experience from start to finish. The evening began with a beautiful private charcuterie board and wine pairings, which immediately set the tone for a fun and authentic Italian experience. The instructors were welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the class enjoyable for all skill levels. They walked us through each step of creating our own fresh pasta, and we got to physically make everything ourselves. One of my favorite parts was that after the class, we were able to package up the food we created to take with us. Then, the staff prepared a family-style dinner featuring everything we had made, allowing us to sit down, relax, and enjoy the delicious meal together. I brought my 10-year-old daughter, and it ended up being such a special bonding experience. Whether youβre with friends, your partner for a date night, or family, I cannot recommend this enough. The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the entire experience felt authentic and memorable. 10 out of 10 β I would do it again in a heartbeat!

i am unsure how this place is getting such great reviews because my friends and i all agreed that this was the worst italian meal we've ever had. we got 5 things, all of which were horrible in their own ways. caesar salad: came to the table untossed. worst caesar dressing i've ever had---no anchovy or seasoning, tasted like creamy water. bruschetta romana: the ingredients just did not work. unseasoned vegetables on top of toast???? suppli tasting: this was giving frozen tv dinner.... in the worst way. seafood carbonara: honestly this tasted average but presenting this dish as a seafood dish and charging $33 for it is a complete joke.....we were all shocked when it was brought out because it only included tiny little BITS of shrimp that MAYBE all together made up 1.5 shrimp. spaghetti al pomodoro e burrata: sauce was bland. pretty sure the "burrata" on our pasta was mozzarella given that it was super plasticky, elastic, and squeaky vs. creamy. additionally, when the staff were bringing out our food, they were roughly dumping the dishes on the table without saying a word. our server was great tho--she's the only reason i gave 1 star. tldr; overpriced, unappetizing food. you're

Eataly offers a great selection of Italian products, including many types of pasta, sauces, and a wide variety of cheeses. Itβs a nice place to explore if you enjoy cooking Italian food at home. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and variety make it a unique shopping experience. One small thing we noticed was that a few bottles of lemon sauce we were interested in had already passed their expiration date but were still on the shelf. It might just be an oversight, but hopefully it can be checked more carefully.

Wow. I'm impressed, like really impressed with this place. I never heard much about it so I think that's what makes my experience that much better. I was visiting San Jose with my fiance and we stopped by and went through the grocery store/deli and loved all the Italian options. Authentic cheeses and meats along with an unlimited supply of authentic Italian options. We went to the 3rd floor where the restaurant was located and were promptly seated. The server as fast and attentive. The pasta made from scratch is outrageous. The atmosphere was inviting and fun. Great food, great service but it ain't cheap.
