Los Angeles is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around Los Angeles is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This is a dog-friendly park, which can be great. However, there was a very uncomfortable and unsafe situation near the children’s playground. A visitor brought several large dogs that were not closely controlled. The dogs approached the playground, barked loudly near families, and came very close to small children and a baby in a stroller. Even if dogs are not aggressive, their size and behavior can be frightening for children and other visitors. Multiple families and adults felt uncomfortable and left the area. Dog-friendly should not mean ignoring children’s safety and other people’s boundaries. Better supervision and enforcement near playground areas would make this park more comfortable for everyone.

It's very beautiful around the Elysian Park in Los Angeles near the downtown area! It has the most recognizable tree planting with the creation of the Avenue of the Palms. Many movies were filmed here at the park like Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Lethal Weapon 3 (1992), American Beauty (1999), The Fast and the Furious (2001), Transformers (2007), Yes Man (2008), and Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022).

Lovely park with beautiful views and a lot of amenities. I saw a big playground, sports fields, and frisbee golf. There is much more I didn't see

We took the wrong side of the trail because it’s a little difficult to tell where the parking or the trail is based on the signage. There’s a police academy next door so we could hear them shooting, and the wrong side takes you by the busy highway, so both of those took away from the peaceful ideal of a hike. A little hard to tell where the trail was in some areas, mostly walking on a street with cars intermittently driving by. There was also a sketchy guy in the parking lot that stood right next to our car as we were heading off to the trail. Cool getting to see the Dodgers stadium from a distance and still got some good miles in. A few great overlooks. Maybe will try for the interior trail next time.

Peaceful, serene large and full of greenery. I enjoy it every time I visit. The beautiful scenic swing is not there anymore though. There’s another one but you won’t get an epic photo with that swing. The scenic swing fell off. The trail is beautiful, I recommend you go during sunset. We were there at 10 and we enjoyed the peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
