I am from Omaha, Nebraska, and went to San Diego to visit family. My cousin is vegan and is always introducing me to phenomenal foods. I am not vegan, but I always try his suggestions. This time, he highly recommended this amazing bakery, and let me say, I was BLOWN AWAY. I ate the cinnamon roll, blueberry Pop-Tart, strawberry muffin, and the lemon bar. Each item was a 10/10 and was by far the best I have ever had. I loved it so much that I spent over $160 on a huge order, which I placed in an electronic cooler and drove 24 hours back home to Omaha. I have been enjoying the baked goods for days now and am about to run out :’(. Each item tastes as good as it did on day one. I have plenty of family in San Diego, so I’ll 100% be back, but even if that weren’t the case, I would make the trip just for Hazel and Jade💜 The only regret I have is that I didn’t have a bigger cooler to get more and that I didn’t get any merchandise to represent my favorite bakery back home💜

This place makes the absolute best cakes—vegan or not! I’ve visited several times for pastries and coffee (all delicious, with the croissant being a standout—simply perfect), but I’ve also ordered cakes for both my daughter’s first and second birthdays, and they were incredible each time. There were no leftovers after either party, and we received countless compliments from our guests. The cakes are moist, flavorful, and beautifully made. Both years, they created a simple yet elegant decoration exactly as I requested. I’m not a fan of thick buttercream, and they listened carefully, using just a thin layer to hold the cake together. Last year, I ordered a seasonal passionfruit and raspberry cake, which was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, that flavor wasn’t available this year, so I went with the berries and cream cake instead—and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this bakery!

I had no idea this place was fully vegan until I walked in 😅 I ordered a latte with oat milk and a cinnamon roll, and honestly, if nobody had told me it was vegan, I would never have guessed because it was SO good. The cinnamon roll was soft, warm, and genuinely delicious. There’s no indoor seating, but they have a few outdoor tables which is nice to enjoy the San Diego weather. Parking was also pretty easy since there’s a lot of paid street parking right in front of the café. Vegan or not, I think this place is definitely worth trying. My only complaint is that they don’t offer “for here” cups, and even the cinnamon roll came in a to-go box, so it was a little hard trying to eat it without a plate. I really hope they eventually switch to reusable cups and plates for people eating there.

Such a cute quiet bakery to sit and enjoy a pastry with coffee! I found out about Hazel & Jade because I'm vegan and wanted gender reveal cupcakes. I found it sweet that they called me to discuss how I'd like them made after submitting an inquiry online. While in the bakery, I picked up their "ham & cheese" croissant and holy moly. This is the best vegan pastry I ever had. When you toast them and they're nice & warm, it is the flakiest croissant that is so soft and airy inside. The "cheese" is melted/gooey inside and is convincingly like cheese, and the ham gives a wonderful smoky flavor. It's so good I bought 2 more when I went back to pick up my cupcakes. Also, their coffee cake is DELICIOUS. It's the perfect amount of sweetness. I find many vegan baked goods to just be overwhelmingly sweet but their coffee cake was not too sweet and truly like a comforting hug when you also warm it up. This is the best vegan bakery I ever experienced! Also, they certainly delivered with the cupcakes! It was such a joy to bite into it and share a sweet moment with my husband. Definitely recommend this place 100%!

We had our wedding in August 2025, and Hazel & Jade Bakery made our cake! We are out-of-towners, and it was difficult for us to find an affordable kosher bakery. We looked for the next best option to keep the catering at least kosher style with their vegan options. (Hazel & Jade, if you are reading this, I would recommend you reach out to a Jewish organization that can hechsher your business and could open up your market even more. It is fairly simple to certify vegan bakeries as kosher). Hazel & Jade Bakery got back to me promptly about creating the cake, and their form is easy to follow. I was worried about their tiered cakes needing to be butter cream, as it’s not my favorite, but until this day, truly, one of the best cakes I have ever had! If we did not say it was vegan, I’m sure no one would have guessed that. We got the berry fruit tiered cake and an additional gluten free chocolate cake. I also had a piece of the chocolate gluten-free cake, and it did not taste grainy like most gluten free pastries. We asked for a couple of flowers on the cake, and we were charged an additional $35. We had come with the impression the flowers would be made of icing or something edible, not
